Nice position but rooms too hot

The Cassidy's Hotel is in a central location and good position for exploring Dublin. The staff at the hotel are excellent being both friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and an average size. There is tea and coffee making facilities and a television. The hotel is let down by being unable to regulate the heating. Even with the radiator offs and the windows wide open the room was unbearable hot and this fact would deter us from staying here again as it affected our sleep at night. Breakfast was top notch but at 15 Euros a person very expensive.

Good hotel in great location!

Hotel was a 5 minute walk from the city centre and close to the bus stops for the 'Hop on, Hop off' tours of Dublin. The rooms were large enough and comfortable. The staff were helpful and our stay at the hotel was a good one. Car parking could be a problem as they have limited car parking.

Excellent location, free secure car park a bonus. Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Rooms clean and tidy. Breakfast absolutely superb.

Great Location

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews by other trip advisor users. I have to say that the location was great. just 10 minutes walk from the Temple Bar area. The staff were helpful - we arrived at 9.30am and reception let us check in straight away. Breakfast was good - buffet style with lots of choice. Great value for money!

Location is convenient, price is right

Was booked into Cassidys via Priceline, which is always a bit if a gamble. This is an urban property as the noise and view will attest- We overlooked four backyards, (which acted more as storage yards than gardens). Actual hotel property is well kept & close to everything. It is on O' Connell street north of the Liffey-I would not have felt safe on the streets alone after dark. Pub in lobby is quiet and cozy with Irish music on Fridays. Breakfast buffet was very good and the hours are convenient for both business and leisure traveler, The room was comfortable and bathroom included both bath and shower.

Just returned from a trip to Dublin and London. Here are my thoughts on Cassidys. This hotel is located in central Dublin, within walking distance of Temple Bar, St. Stephens Green and Grafton Street. The staff were very pleasant. We were given rooms on the fourth floor which had air conditioning (we had asked for a non-smoking room and none were available so that's where they put us - I got the impression that some of the lower floors did not have AC - believe me, we needed it, it was hot while we were there!). The breakfast in the morning was pretty good, with a great ambience and atmosphere (Frank Sinatra playing, elegant tables and silverware, etc.) My husband loved, loved the coffee. They have a 24 hour desk which is rare; great for people like us who left at 5:45 am for the airport. The car park is VERY SMALL; if you want a space, arrive early. The directions I pulled off the 'net were COMPLETELY WRONG for the hotel; we spent almost 3 hours driving around lost. I do NOT recommend driving in Dublin AT ALL. Driving in the rest of Ireland is doable, but scary - but Dublin is horrific. The streets change names literally every two blocks, and there is a scarcity of street signs, plus massive construction. Anyway, I recommend staying at Cassidys - clean room, big bathroom, and it was quiet (ask for a room away from the VERY busy street) and handy.

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip. We found the hotel's location to be excellent. It's located on a main street with lots of shopping and pubs. The Temple Bar area is only a 10-15 min. walk away... Perfect for walking off a pint or two. The rooms were nice, nothing spectacular. We booked one triple that worked out perfectly for us. Be aware, however, that rooms in the front of the hotel are full of street noise, so if you're a light sleeper ask for a room in the back. The breakfast was fantastic, and the pub downstairs was great, too. For the price, this is a great choice.

OK for the Price

Overall, I had a positive stay at Cassidys. Room was clean, decently sized and fairly priced. Good breakfast with friendly staff. I would have preferred being a little closer to the center of things but the walk wasn't bad and public transportation was convienent. Only two negatives: the bed linens were threadbare and were so small they couldn't remain tucked under the head of the mattress and the front desk staff were consistently grim.

One of the best value hotels I've stayed in recently; 4 star accomodation at 2 star prices! Couldn't fault the place; friendly staff, well appointed rooms of good size, handy bar (live music at weekends) and restaurant on-site. Breakfast buffet style and either continental or full Irish fry, both excellent - no potato cake with the fry, but hey, you can't have everything! Location wise it's only a short walk to the airport bus stop and an even shorter walk to the O'Connell street shops. Highly recommended.

i thought this place was fantatic. the room we had was huge and immaculate, (this was only a standard room). the breakfast was buffet style and there was lots of it. cooked breakfast, cerials, continental, fruit, meats and cheeses.. you name it they had it. when we booked out we could leave our bags in a secure room and collect them later before we went to the airport.

overall i would recomend this place to anyone visiting dublin.

A great hotel in the heart of Dublin

We stayed here from 11-13 March 2004 and have to say it was just perfect.The room was very nice and the staff friendly.It was a five minute walk to the heart of the city.The breakfast was very good as was the Guinness in the Bar!!

Cassidy's is conveniently located, clean and secure. The staff are very helpful and there is a bar aand restaurant. However, we could hear a lot of activity from ajoing roomds and the plumbing is funny. When another room uses their bathroom you can hear lousd gurgling! Other than taht no complaints (they forgot what we asked for at breakfast twice - but it was very busy and they were apologetic).

Chose Cassidy's after reading favourable reviews on Trip Advisor. This is a cracking, centrally located hotel, with friendly staff and a wonderful Irish breakfast buffet. Sited at the top of O'Connell Street it is ideally placed for easy travel with bus stops and taxi ranks aplenty. A word of warning, if you intend to take advantage of the Irish hospitality be warned that the Temple Bar area is v.v.v expensive, upto 7 euros each. Better off drinking round the "fringe" where prices are 30-40% cheaper.

Top Local Tips for Dublin

Bus Tour Take the Hop-on Hop-off city bus tour. Lasts approx 1hr 15 mins. Do the whole tour first then start again, this time getting off at places of interest such as the Jameson distillery etc. Then just get back on again and go to the next attraction.

Bus from the airport to Dublin There are a few different busses to and from the airport. For no apparent reason they vary in cost from 5 to 7 Euros. The 747 goes from directly outside the airport arrivals area. It costs 5 euros and its non stop into Dublin. Same on the way back. 747 departs from outside the bank in the centre (you can't miss it). No idea why the others cost more? They also stop several times on the journey. The 747 does not. It takes about 25 minutes.

dublino ottima location per shopping e vita notturna, Dublino un'ottima meta per shopping e per chi ama divertirsi la notte, infatti con tutti i suoi pubs e nights club, puoi ogni sera cambiare locale. ottimo anche lo shopping si riescono a fare davvero degli ottimi accquisti. per quanto riguarda il lato culturale, raccomando Dublino soltanto ad intenditori, infatti non c'รจ molto di interessante da vedere se non si conosce bene la storia irlandese
