We tend to choose travelodge as a reliable place to stay with our two young children when we are travelling. Most of the time, we're quite happy. The standard set by other travelodge hotels was not met here. The room was cold when we arrived. The decor and the furniture was run down and un-inviting. The 'restaurant' situated near the hotel was closed and so we had to head back into Dublin for our meal. All in all, this was an unsatisfactory stay and has made us wary of pre-booking with travelodge in the future.

The staff were helpfull with any queries we had and the room was clean and tidy. We were very happy overall with our stay at the Travel Lodge.

Top Local Tips for Dublin
Taxis Taxis are good & plentiful but can be very expensive. Buses are fine and cheap with the right (discounted) tickets. You will need coins for buses if you don't have prepaid tickets.
make sure you state travelodge castleknock drivers pretned to be lost and take you the wrong travelodge on purpose, dont let them!
Hotel vs Temple Bar Not much cheaper to dine at hotel than Temple Bar. Better to venture into town for food!
