This is a fabulous location. Our stay was ruined by the rudeness of Ann, in the reception and Mary O'Connor the manager and owner of the hotel.
One minute a false smile, the next a tirade of awkwardness and unhelpfulness. Staff are subject to the same abruptness of Mary's sharp tongue, adding to the stiff and uncomfortable atmosphere.
Rooms are very, very basic and look as though they were last done up in the 1970's.
A bowl of stew in the restaurant is 29 euro and fifty cents. The duck at 27.50 was nothing special but the vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked.

I really didn't enjoy this place. The food and rooms were quite poor. Nothing to recommend. The scenery is beautiful, but that is outside the hotel.

I agree with Neil, the reviewer who gave this 3/10. I want to drop mine to a 1. It's very age-oriented, with the emphasis on the over-60s. Rooms were quite bare and old, not much luxury to them at all. The beaches are lovely around here, but avoid this hotel.

I honestly don't recommend this hotel, but the surrounding area is just beautiful. Their restaurant is well-known, but for their prices the rooms could be much nicer. I'd recommend somewhere else, maybe a B&B in Caherdaniel or Sneem. Good area for golf.

The roads Caherdaniel is a bit of a trek so leave plenty of time......watch the roads they are mental!!!

Iveragh peninsula it is also worth to take small roads to discover the impressive landscape between Moll's Gap / Black valley/ Glencar and have a walk along the Kerry way.

Ring of Kerry The ring of Kerry is a beautiful route with a very different beautiful landscape.
