Top Local Tips for Bundoran
Slieve League If you're in Bundoran you must have a car to get around, public transport is extremely limited especially off peak. Ballyshannon seems to be a nicer place to stay. Bundoran seemed run down & very resortie, with lots of amusements outlets & pubs. Not a very cultural experience. However if you travel outside of Bundoran you must visit the Slieve League cliffs. They're very impressive. Slieve League is the highest mountain in the Donegal SW area and the 284th highest in Ireland. Slieve League is the second most westerly summit in the Donegal SW area.
The Province of Ulster! If you are arriving via the car ferry from Scotland, you must drive across the Province of Ulster. We stopped off in four of the six counties at various towns for a snack or drink to soak up the so warm atmosphere.
Perfect base for touring If you wany a really good break with peace and quiet and good value then Fitzgeralds Hotel Bundoran is your destination , its excellent.
