I paid 40 euros extra for a single room. the room was freezing, dark, depressing with strange large pieces of wood behind and beside the very small single bed, with nails sticking out (health and safety?) I asked several times if I could change rooms, and pointed out that in most hotels single guests get a double room. I had friends who had perfectly acceptable double rooms, for which they had paid less than me. I said I thought it was unfair to pay more for a very inferior room might as well have complained to the wall. An aquaintance of mine who arrived 2 hours later than me got a double room for the same price, even though I had been told repeatedly the hotel was full. obviously they were holding out for 2 people. I don't appreciate being told a pack of lies. unbelievable waitress at dinner. when one of our group complained about inedible chicken the waitress said: what do you expect for 10.99? no, I dodn't copy this from faulty towers - it reallt happened. If you are single person, don't think about it - much better hotels and deals elsewhere!

As a very regular guest here, I find it a place of relaxation in which everyone does their utmost to make me feel welcome and make my stay a happy one. The staff team is wonderful and helpful, the rooms comfortable and clean, the food good and plentiful. I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed two nites on a tour (Mon&Tues). The owners were nice, food good & rooms okay but the NOISE from being on a exit st. from town on a hill is unreal.

Weekend at Dorrians Hotel

We stayed at Dorrians Hotel, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal for 2 nights (Fri & Sat). It wouldnt be a place/town I would recommend for a young couple going away for the weekend looking for a bit of fun etc. Ballyshannon is a nice town but with nothing to do except visit the few pubs. (no place for shopping) Each night we went to the pubs there was a very slack crowd. Really no atmosphere at all. Back at the hotel again no atmosphere what so ever or even entertainment in the hotel. Terrible for holiday makers. The hotel staff were ok but the old lady in reception just grunted when spoke to like we were putting her out. No manners at all. Evening meal was very nice and tasty but breakfast was of limited portion. Not great for a growing boy. Thats it in a nutshell folks. No entertainment or leisure facility. Might as well have stayed at home!!
