Have actually stayed here several times for weddings and functions. Seems to get worse everytime. Last year I spent a whole weekend in a room with no running water despite several complaints to front desk. Had to use leisure centre to shower and staff almost implied I should be glad of it. When I again brought it to attention on check out and asked for it to be reflected on my bill I was told to "complete a comment card" and did not get as much as €5 reduction. Needless to say I never got a response from the "comment card department". The rooms are badly let and throughout the whote hotel is a flash back to 80's decor. The bar was renovated recently and theat stands out like a sore thumb in comparison to rest of the place. They should have just left it alone!! Om my most recent stay I was looking for an iron and was told that it was busy so there was none available. They didn't even offer one when it did become available. In my experience the local/Irish staff are exceptionally rude but any foreign staff seem pleasent enough. This might be a norm throughout the country though. This is not a good place to stay.

I would hardly call this hotel a resort, the comforts are few and far between. The hotel has no lifts, and getting to our room, situated on the 2nd floor at the far end of the hotel, consisted of going through corridor after cigarette smoke smelling corridor. No one attempted to assist with our luggage, or show us the way. The hotel's website, along with their sign on the main road, and again as you enter the hotel property, clearly states that there is tradional Irish music sessions, which we thought we be fun at the end of our day. Well, there is no Irish bar any longer, it's a modern room full of oversized chairs and sofas, and the sessions are a thing of the past. They may want to update their adverstising.... If you stay when a wedding reception is being held, as we did, be aware that wedding guests spill into and actually take over the lobby and bar, there isn't much respect for other guests of the hotel. You'll most likely be able to hear the d.j well into the night also. The room was nice, whirlpool tub a plus. Breakfast buffet was good, evening meal at Timmy Mac's fair.

Stayed here after getting deal (198 euros two nights with one dinner and two breakfasts). It appears to be in the throws of being done up so the rooms where a bit of a mish mash of new furniture and old carpets and furniture. The room had also not been cleaned properly- carpet not hoovered and rubbish in drawers. Parts of the hotel where quite jaded and this is what gives it the average rating. However, the gym was well equipped and the staff and owner where extremely nice. The parts of the hotel newly renovated where very good and would point to the completed renovations being also very good. The food was from the sublime to the ok. Breakfast was a bit ho hum but I had a lamb shank that was of the highest order. I would have no problems advising people to stay here despite the few problems.
what a great weekend

We had a brillant weekend in the Woodlands recently - the staff were superb, the food was yummy!! they really knew how to spoil us..
We booked two nights accommodation - to my surprise a bowl of fruit and water had been left in the room - they had know it was my birthday - I thought this was really sweet.
I had a hot stone massage in Revas and it was so relaxing ..I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel.

A fantastic & excellent service really relaxing & enjoyed it, staff really friendly and professional. The hot stone massage was wonderful – the best massage I ever had, the massage therapist had magic hands. My stay at the Woodlands is always great and that down to the great staff so helpful+++
Always good food, child friendly and good value for money

This was our last stop on our honeymoon trip to Ireland. Granted, Adare is not exactly a hopping town, but based on the guidebooks we thought we would see a little more. The town consisted of a few shops (all carrying the same thing), a visitor’s center, a cute little park and a few restaurants. The combination of the town being “ehh” and the hotel being “so-so” didn’t make us a fan. Simply put, The Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel was simply ok.
Pros: The room was huge, with two queen beds; the bathroom was clean; and the tub was big and great to soak in
Cons: The hotel is laid out as one giant maze and we were on the ground floor despite the fact we were in a 400 numbered room; they charged 1 euro for every few minutes of internet usage; the hallways, etc. were dingy and looked dirty; and every dish either my husband or I picked up at the breakfast buffet was dirty and the food wasn’t that great.
If you are flying out of Shannon it provides a convenient place to stop, but don’t expect to be overwhelmed by this hotel. If you do end up there, make sure to have dinner at The Wild Geese, it was amazing!

Give this one a miss

Very disappointed with this hotel. It is not really for tourists but for large weddings and functions. The Spa is really second rate --you have to walk past the spa reception where all and sundry are paying to use the pool--dads and their kids - a bit embarrassing when you are naked except for a towelling robe-which is clinging to your wet body !!! .
Dinner was horrendous--the restaurant manageress was superb but the function room adjacent was full of children-some charity 'tea' which still wasnt finished at 9.30!!!!! They screamed, screached, ran through the restaurant--which was a real shame as the food was quite good. You might as well have been in McDonalds
The bar is very shabby--needs a good clean and refurbished--wouldnt recommend it to anyone which is a pity as the restaurant manageress who has been there 14 years was a honey.

Wonderful stay. Accomodations were very nice.We even requested an area off from the rest of hotel, since we were celebrating a special event. The dining exprience was top notch, and the food was sublime. Served with gracious expertise. All in all a very nice time.Would definately tell friends and hope to return to the Woodlands'.
avoid this hotel

We stayed at the Woodlands recently and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was very noisy, the pub restaurant was just adequate, rooms are stangely decorated and, worst of all, the shower head came out of the wall, spraying my husband and the bathroom with very hot water. The staff brought us new towels, but did not help clean up. They were busy with a large wedding party and that seems to be where their interest is.
Loved it!

Im just back after spending a day in the Spa and then overnight in the Woodlands. I have to say I really enjoyed it! My Spa Day was a little dissapointing but it would be a good experience maybe for someone who has never had any Spa treatments before. I was made feel very welcome and was not at all conscious of the fact I was spending the day alone. My Spa day included a lovely lunch. I couldnt find the restaurant and was wandering about when a staff member asked if I needed any assistance,I told her I was looking for the restaurant and straight away she said OH are you Michele? You are here in the Spa, she then personally took me to the restaurant and my table.
I then stayed overnight with my boyfriend that night for Valentines Day which is a night notorious for poor service as most restaurants are trying to push you out the door to fill the table again , not the Woodlands!I must say once again the welcome we recieved at the restaurant was excellent. Our meal was beautiful, one of the best Ive had in fact , and I was most impressed with the availability of Wheat free meals on the menu. There was a wedding in the hotel the same night but this did not impede on our service at all! The wine list was extensive with many "popular" choices available for the less serious drinker. Our meal was served with great timing and wonderful service from both Irish and Polish staff. I did not once have to fill my wine glass it was done for me every time!
Our room was spacious very clean and had a jacuzzi tub - very romantic!
All in all I loved the place and would have NO HESITATION IN RECOMMENDING IT!
