Welcoming and friendly staff. Rooms on the small side and towels a bit past there prime along with the non fluffy robes. Breakfast excellant with delicious breads,service good.

We enjoyed our stay at the Budapest Le Meridian. It is centrally located to the places of interest in the City. It was a pleasure to return to our air conditioned room after touring in the hot summer weather. The staff were helpful in suggesting good places to dine and other events e.g. Opera, recitals, and local tours. We would consider it favorably if we were to visit Budapest again.

Presumably the management of this hotel hopes to see it
as a 5* place, but it is definitely not as good.
On negative side one can indicateL
(1) long waiting time to be served in the lobby;
(2) extremely small swimming pool , not appropriate even for
a 4* hotel;
(3) essentially overpriced preakfast;
(4) slightly smellish bathroom;
(5) cleaners keen to enter the room on the daty of departure
already at 10am, even though the official time to leave
is 12am.

Great Hotel. 5 star in the true sense. The employees are dedicated and appear there to sincerely cater to your needs. Rooms are checked every couple of hours, and attention to detail is meticulous. It may be slightly pricey, but worth the extra dosh you will spend. Great place, thoroughly reccomend it. gOOD location as well. I can tell you it is better than the kempenksi, which should give you an idea of what I am speaking about!

Beautiful Hotel

Stayed here whilst on business this year. The Hotel itself is beautiful & the bedrooms very grand. The breakfast selection is excellent & the Hotels proximity to the main shopping/restaurant area makes it ideal. The only negative feedback is that much of the Hotel & many of it's staff are a bit too formal, the latter I would describe as efficient but not particularly friendly.

just returned from two nights at the le meridien. Lovely hotel, great breakfast, helpful staff however stay was let down slightly by the lack of attention to our booking details. Had booked a room for three people with a 3pm checkout. when we arrived the room was only set up for two people. A sofa bed was made up very quickly and another robe left out however we then had to ask for a third cup and another tea bag. On the next day we had to contact housekeeping as the beds had not been made by 4pm. Although we had left towels hanging rather than in the bath they were taken and only replaced by two clean towels. On the last day we returned from lunch ready to check out at 3pm to find the room locked as they had no record of us booking the late checkout in spite of us having a confirmation email. i think with the opening of the four seasons the meridien will have to work hard to compete.

Superb hotel

Just returned from a three night, pre- Christmas break in Budapest, with my husband. Had the most marvellous time; this is a great, vibrant city with lots to see and do. The Le Meridien in Pest is an extremely comfortable hotel in a superb location. Although Buda is historically the oldest quarter it was Pest we eventually felt more attracted to. The impressive architecture of its numerous buildings, reminds you of Paris.
Our lovely room on the sixth floor was immaculately clean, with all the facilities you'd expect of a hotel of this high standard and the added beauty of a separate shower in the bathroom. (So few hotels have this facility today.) The Kingsize bed was gigantic but very comfortable. The view of the main square from our window was quite intriguing as it seemed busy most of the day with lots of activity to view. No noise entered our room however and we had a peaceful few nights sleep. The staff we met were all very efficient and courteous and quite friendly.
We ate in the Bourbon restaurant one evening which was good but our lamb dish had too many overwhelming flavours to it that I could barely taste the lamb itself. A shame. The service was impeccable however. Breakfast was varied and excellent. The blue glass domed ceiling is exquisite.
It was very cold in Budapest , as expected at this time of year, but the hotel was a warm, relaxing and very welcome haven to return to. It was certainly a most welcome and refreshing break for us both and our thanks to the Le Meridian staff for enabling us to, quite literally, chill out!

Pure Luxury

This hotel offers the highest possible level of accomodation and service. Don't miss the Hungarian night on Fridays under their gorgeous glass dome. There is a extensive buffet with unlimited wine and Hungarian musicans and dancers perform for you all evening.

International-quality hotel

Stayed two nights in Le Meridien and found it the equal to international hotels anywhere. Friends were staying at the Gresham Four Seasons, which was marginally better but twice the price. Also looked at the Kempinski next door, whose modern exterior was let down by rather frumpy interior decor.

Le Meridien's room was of good quality and size. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive (although, again, the Four Seasons' were marginally better.) Only small gripe was slightly tired towels.

If price is absolutely no object, go for the Four Seasons. If price matters at all, you will be absolutely satisfied with Le Meridien

Excellent

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and it is excellent - the staff are very helpful and friendly the the room was massive and decorated to the highest standard with olf world charm. The pool and sauna on the top floor are great and again the staff do all to help. Faultless. The only negative thing I could say is not to use the hotel taxi to the airport - it is 3 times the price of using a local firm.

Excellent Stay at the Le Meridien

Stayed at this hotel from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, 2004. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. I had a room with a small balcony on the 8th floor facing the square. The bathroom was well-equipped, including heated floor. The hotel had a swimming pool/jacuzzi/steam room/fitness centre. As mentioned in the other reviews, the location is simply unbeatable. Walking distance to most of the attractions, including the Chain Bridge, and a metro stop right by the front door of the hotel. The famous Gerbaud Cafe is two blocks away. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is an amazing first class all the way hotel. A wonderfully polite and helpful staff. Perfect location and great views from the large, clean, well-appointed room. The turndown service was also reliable. The Kempinski Hotel next door definitely rivals this hotel but it is a close tie.

Great food at La Fontaine Great french restaurant only 3 blocks away from the hotel - brillant food and great service

Nutcracker Ballet in December/January I have seen the Nutcracker nearly every year since I was 5, and always enjoy it (obviously), but this was an exceptionally delightful production, and the Opera House is gorgeous. The audience was composed primarily of children of all ages, and they were enthralled and well-behaved.
