This hotel is rated 4 stars but not by western standards.The hotel staff at the desk are welcoming enough but the standard of accomodation would be lucky to rate a 1 star in the uk.The flush in the cistern came away in my hand and the satellite Tv only had BBC world news.The furniture had seen better days too - pretty basic really.The food was reasonable but do not ask for a drink after 10 as you will be told no in no uncertain terms.Indeed one of the waiters was extremely rude but perhaps he did not realise it as he told us to get out as it was 10 o'clock - he must have gone to the old Soviet charm school.THe hotel is a bit out of the way but there is a good tram and metro service.A must to go to in Budapest is The House of Terror at 60 Andrassy street here you will get an idea of how these people suffered which is probably why they don't smile much.Hopefully things will improve for the people but it is going to take time.
