Avoid Benczur hotel!

We stayed in Benczur hotel for two night. We booked two rooms and the air-condition didn't work in both of them half of the time (it was +40 C in Budapest!) and we paid extra 15€ per room per night for A/C!!! The staff speaks extremely poor English and show no will to help whatsoever! I am walking with the crutches due to very difficult knee operation and they didn't even offer to help with the luggage. We had a huge argue with the receptionist when we tried to ask what was wrong with the A/C who shouted at us infront of other guests and when we asked to speak to the manager he told us he is the boss. As I have never been treated this way in my life in any hotel, I would strongly recommend everyone to avoid this hotel. The price of 80€ for a double room where the A/C is not working is way to high, not to mention the staff. Very poor!!!

The most unpleasent and awfull hotel in Budapest! I payed extra money for air conditiong that wasn't working at all in Budapest at 42 degrees! The stuff at the reception tried to convince me that air conditiong is not healthy!?!? Although I am an invalid they did not want to call me a taxi. Very unpleasent, non English speaking stuff!!!! Avoid if you can!

Top Local Tips for Budapest

House of Terror The word 'attraction' is not the best word for this museum. Please take your time to get involved in the history of this country. Just think about the following: everyone above 60 years or older had to live secretly every day, not able to trust anyone! Audio is not necessary, in every room you can pick a paper with information.

Statue park You can catch direct bus from the main metro station but I would avoid it. The park itself was quite interesting but I wouldn't pay over £10 to see it.One to avoid.
