Splendid On The Outside..

The hotel is well located near Hero Square, very grand looking and the staff were friendly. However, the room we stayed in was fairly basic/ shabby and the breakfast was appalling. This meant that we spent a fair amount of the time out and about which was no bad thing.

Warm and comfortable in the severest Hungarian frost, overlooking Heroes' Square and right beside an underground station, Hotel Delibab was an ideal base for a long weekend exploring Budapest. Take your swimming trunks, any time of year, so you can swim in the thermal baths in the park opposite.
Top Local Tips for Budapest
Metro They love to get the tourists and fine you big time. Make sure you get the right ticket. If you ask for a single ticket, sometimes they give you a section ticket which is only valid for three stations. The inspectors which are everywhere will then fine you 5000HUF. Best tip is to get a unlimited travel card.
Great Metro system Use this to your advantage. Metro links take you all over Budapest for around 60p pe single journey. Buy a book of tickets and get an even better deal. Works out around 40p per journey. With links taking you to all major tourist attractions.
Skating,spa.opera,museums and galleries Probably good to take towel and swimming stuff and something smart for evening so you can plan opera.
