Great Location, Cleanliness Questionable!

The Alamis Studios are in a great location, only a few mins from both the beach and bars/restaurants. The pool area looked nice (although personally I did not use it), the staff were always friendly and the rooms were of a typical 3* standard for Greece.

My main concern was the hygene, ive stayed in Greece before and always had the rooms cleaned daily, new sheets and towels every other day. The Alamis might state that its clean but my experience was different!

On arrival the sheets were dirty, large muddy smears on the freshly made bed, not difficult to see but apparently the cleaning staff couldnt!

Although the cleaners turned up daily, usually about 3pm to empty the bins (thankfully!!) they didnt sweep and wash the floors. The floor was constantly gritty (even on arrival) and I doubt they were swept at all before mopping. I had to clean the floors myself on a few occassions and from the dirt, I doubt they used fresh water and cleaning products!!!

I wouldn't recommend the accomodation but the resort certainly gets my thumbs up!

Ill keep this short but to the point. The Alamis apts are well looked after in a great location and are clean and tidy the staff are all very helpful and pleasant except one which is the night time barman who is very arrogant keeps you waiting when there is no need and is quite ignorant I don't even know his name on the other hand the day time barman nick is completely opposite and a really good laugh I later found out the night man has a day job as a taxi driver perhaps he needs a rest anyway apart from this ignorant person you will have a great time.

Stayed at the Alamis (booked privately) for two weeks July/ August 2005. Had seen lots of sites and reviews on these apartments and we were not dissappointed. The owners of the Alamis, Panos and Anna were really helpful, they collected us from airport, nothing too much trouble. This hotel is exclusive to Olympic but you can book direct. We had a two bedroomed apartment, which sleeps six, on the top floor overlooking pool. We had two sets of patio doors out onto our very large balcony with patio table and six chairs and still enough room for lilos to sunbathe. (You dont get this with Olympic). The private apartments are bigger and more care to detail. The rooms were cleaned daily, beds changed every other day and always clean towels and lots of them. The greek night is a must. The pool bar serves food all day and was reasonable and nice. All the staff, Tassos, Maria and Yannis were great, extra friendly. Lots of people we met return year after year and thats no surprise. We have never been anywhere twice, but yes we are going again next year. Tsilivi is great and would recommend the Alamis to everyone. We had three teenagers and they loved it too. Cant praise this place enough.

Top Local Tips for Zakynthos

Georgios There are loads of restaurants in tsilivi, but the best has to be georgios! Amazing food!!! Amazing staff ( twin brothers who are gorgeous )!! Definately the most popular place to eat in tsilivi. Really good value too the two of us had drinks with our 2course meals and the whole lot came to about 15 Euros.

Expect chaos at the airport! The airport is not organised and is very hectic in depatures but arrivals isnt that bad.

Entertaining Go visit the Two Brothers Bar! This was by far the best and most entertaining bar. Always a warm welcome; the lovely Anna will promptly find you a place to sit and remembers what drinks you like to order. The two brothers, Kostas and Tassos are very nice indeed and will take time to sit and chat if they get a moment (usually when everything winds down at the end of the night or during the daytime). As for Spiros, he's just crazy! Great night out, good food, fantastic family run bar. (they also have accommodation which looked very nice, worth checking out, I would definately stay there when I visit again!) What more can I say, highly recommended!
