High in the Pelion mountainside hides a jewel called "The Lost Unicorn" hotel. It is situate on the picturesque Agia Paraskevi square, beside the 1000 year old Plane tree. Entering the hotel is like going back in time, as it is filled with antiques from London & Athens. Clare and Christos Markos are the most fantastic hosts - you could not be made more welcome. This unique hotel has 8 tatefully decorated bedrooms in a style of a bygone age. We have stayed in three different bedrooms in the past and hope to try another one next year! The elegant saloni leads onto a flower filled garden terrace, which is just the thing to relieve the stress of modern day living. The classy restaurant has a menu full to the brim with recipes using local produce, cooked to perfection and accompanied by the finest wines. The whole experience is nothing short of perfect and we cannot wait to go back again.

The best holiday we've ever had! The level of service given by owners Clare and Christos was exceptional, the food was great - a mixture of English and Greek. The hotel itself, a lovely mansion house set the beautiful mountain village of Tsagarda, was very comfortable - full of antiques.

Top Local Tips for Tsagarada

Hiking trails Tsangaradha is in central Pelion, up on the mountains. Its a great location for hiking or for a base to travel around the Pelion region. Several stunning beaches are within a short hike from Tsangaradha. Hiking boots are probably best to be able to walk thru the stone paths/trails, or well cushioned running/walking shoes. The whole area is filled with spring water fountains, so it's easy to refill on water. Pelion is a lovely place.

Skala If you are in Tsangaradha do pop into the bar Skala. In Greek, Skala means 'stairs', and that's what leads up to the bar. It's located on the main road. They play great music and the barowner is really friendly.You will be in for a fun night. Don't forget to try the Watermelon shoots! Delicious!

Just agree a price before you start your journey The taxis are excellent, punctual, courteous, clean, good cars; I'd just say, to aviod misunderstandings and any feelings of 'Hmm that's a bit much' - agree aprice BEFORE you set off.
