Fantastic Hotel, Food was brillant, everything was clean and tidy, everyone was friendly. The beach was not sandy, it was stoney and rocky in the sea, very hard to get into, we had to buy special shoes to wear. (which are cheaper in Potos town) about 5 minutes walk, Where the beach here is sandy. Do try the Boomerang Bar, staff are lovely and friendly. (Also it has Sky TV) Beautiful Island. We would go again.

Stayed at the Sanguli Holiday Campsite near Salou in Spain, it was a great camp, especially for kids, it was a very clean camp and the staff were great, just outside the camp was a great sandy beach and a short walk took you to Salou's centre, loads to do great for the family, and Thomsons were fab.

Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly & made a fuss of our children. Hotel has a no-tip policy (you can put cash into a tips' pot on reception if you wish). No pool side sunbed saving' hotel say they will remove towels if you try to put them out the night before. When we visited there were more than enough sunbeds by the pool and on the beach we never had a problem. Most of the time our kids were the only ones in the pool. The hotel have their own kids club but it is only for young kids. Found the pool a little on the cool side kids couldn't stay in too long before they came out shivering! Kids were disappointed with the beach they couldn't build sand castles on the shingle, but we hired a car (30 euros per day from the hotel) & can recommend Psilli Amos beach. We were impressed with the food & the service in the restaurant.
Our kids found the whole journey time too long (6 & 2 yrs). From leaving our house (we live 1.5hrs from airport) to reaching the hotel it took us nearly 12 hrs (car, plane, coach, ferry, coach). Thassos as a whole is probably dearer than some other Greek islands, but drinks, food out etc cost no more than here. Hotel bar prices are comparable with hotel bar prices here (cola, lemondade 2euros, bottle of red 12 euros). Evenings are spent in a taverna overlooking the sea - no night clubs here. A lovely unspoilt island.

Locatin of Hotel lovely. Rooms nice and spacious set amongst pretty gardens, good food. Potos is really nice, lots of good bars and places to eat. Now the not so good! Hotel far too small for amount of people there, extra rooms built a few years ago I believe, no room in the restaraunt, certainly not enough round the pool (sardines come to mind!)only half of the guests managed to get sunbeds! drinks in the hotel expensive. I imagine the best time to enjoy this Hotel is out of season.

The location was great only a few mins from Potos town and beach! Lovely rooms nice and clean. Wasn't keen on the layout of the buffet but the food was okay! Nice, friendly and helpful! Alexandra Beach's own beach isn't too good but still close to many other great beaches
Good, but not great

The good: spacious and clean rooms, great choice of quality food, friendly staff, close to Potos town.
The not so good: a large sprawling complex, restaurant too small (often had to wait a while for table to be re-set, and waiter drinks service to arrive), pool area too small for number of guests, expensive (to the point of occasionally feeling gouged'), a bit on the noisy side from time to time.
Overall: a good hotel that suffers slightly from delusions of grandeur and an infrastructure that appears not to have kept pace with a guest accommodation expansion program. You won't find much better, but nevertheless there is still room for improvement.

Lovely weather, beautiful swimming pool (s) overlooking the sea, great cocktail bar with trendy music. Very relaxing, great for families and those seeking rest and relaxation.
The rooms were spacious and clean. Very wide breakfast selection at the buffet.

We have holidayed in many locations worldwide and 10 of the Greek Islands. Never returned to the same place twice as there is so much to see out there. We are going back to Alexander Beach Hotel, Thassos in June this year because it has 2 beautiful local villages a few minutes walk away, is still a beautiful, unspoilt island, good food, friendly staff, what more could one ask for?
An excellent holiday

The Hotel Alexandra was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in July of 2005. Set in mature gardens, it was a very relaxing setting. Admittedly there was the morning exercise routine in the pool to music but if that wasn't your thing you could relax under the trees, reading in dappled sunlight. We had a sea view bungalow which was clean and modernly furnished. The restaurant and food couldn't be faulted and the air conditioning was a god send. Would I go back again? Absolutely - tomorrow if possible!!!
