Hotel dating from the 60's. Could do with a complete rennovation. Especially the studio's are a disaster. Friendly service. Restaurant OK, but expensive. You can go out eating as good and cheaper in one of the many taverna's downtown.

If you are looking for a holiday which is total relaxation then you can't do any better than Vournelis. Your hosts Kostas and Yiota made my wife and myself feel part of their family, inviting us to dine with them, share a drink with them and literally treat them as family rather than our hosts. The venue is three (yes three) yards from the sea and 100yards from where the ferries pull in. Thassos town is about a half mile walk away and anybody who is interested in history, there are archeological digs on the doorstep. The swimming pool is spotless as are the surrounding grounds, with plenty of sun-loungers and table and chairs. The food menu is adequate and beautifully prepared, but if you feel like something special then all you need to do is ask and either Kostas himself, or the chef will prepare whatever you want. If you want to unwind in a friendly, hassle free and totally relaxing environment then you will not find anything better.

The hotel is very clean and the mais cleaned our room every day! Kosta, the owner, Themis and Sengos, the barman and waiter wer very good and looked after us well. The pool is lovely and the views out over the northern agean are great. The food was fine though Sengos didnt understand veggie at all. The location is excellent for the town and the gardens are a great place to relax. When my partner stepped on a sea urchin Kostas helped her to pick them out!! We were charged 200 euros for SEVEN nights. Great value and the free drinks late at night were excellent
