when me and my partner first checked in to the hotel,we where greeted with a warm welcome from Nadia the hotels desk manager, she was very pleasent and every time we saw her she called us by our first name, the other lady at the desk was called Olga and she spoke several languages she was also friendly and called us by our first name.as for the maid Berlata and husband Andreaus the waiter they where very pleasent and helpfull.as for the hotel itself, the hotel was very clean, the decour was up to date, the art work fantastic and displade everywhere so you had plenty to admire.pure white clean towels twice a day and constant supply of toilet roll.if you got bored there was internet for you and a small libary at you pleasure.also a tv in the main lounge if you wanted to chill with a drink watching the tv.this hotel is a must.if i ever go back to Skiathos id stay in the la piscine art hotel again.one last thing on the day of departure we had a bombshell, the company that we where flying with XL whent bust,Nadia and Olga whent out there way to help us,we eventually got a flight back home that night so a big thumbs up to Nadia and Olga.

We stayed at the Piscine Art Hotel last year and loved it. It's a nice hotel for couples with very friendly staff especially Nadia behind the bar, and Mama and her sons. We would highly recommend this hotel for lovely food, clean facilities, friendly staff, quiet location, walking distance to town, a thoughly relaxing time. Thank you from Rose and Vince

We arrived without any information regarding hotel or the island, so it was a very pleasant surprise to find the staff and hotel to be first class. Nadia and Steven really looked after us, we felt part of the family. We would just like to thank you for everything. Hope to see u soon. Many thanks.

In addition to my previous review I hadn't actually mentioned the Hotel. I have travelled a bit and can easily say the Hotel is one of the cleanest I have stayed in. It is visually stylish and a pleasure to stay in. The pool is kept reasonably clear from inflatable items and is decorated with tea lights at night. The room we stayed in unfortunately didn’t have a balcony (this fact was not advertised in the brochure) as most either have a private or shared balcony, this worked in our favour as some balcony rooms had a view of the local dust road and shops. The room itself was very comfortable with clean sheets, towels and very regular maid service. There was a restaurant at the hotel and the prices seemed very reasonable but we ate out every night. This was not a loud and brash hotel but a relaxed and serene experience and not really one for families, instead it was a couples and small parties hotel. The breakfast was quite good with some fruit, mixed grill, pastries, cereal, coffee and some fruit juice/drinks. The room did not have tea or coffee making facilities or a hair dryer but did have a TV which had mixed languages depending on times. There was air conditioning which we had to ask the reception to switch on on a daily basis but they did so straight away. Like most Greek hotels it was a case of no bathroom tissue down the toilet. The staff at the hotel are very friendly despite not going out of their way to be too helpful they were still polite and smiley. The manager (possibly owner) is always around wearing vivid colours and smoking a cigar. The location is a nice 10 minutes walk away from Skiathos town which is a good distance for noise. The journey to and from the hotel has shops along the way and some quiet restaurants and the gorgeous smell of a local garden centre. All in all I would recommend this hotel even if the location doesn’t offer sea views and on the doorstep bars.

Once in a lifetime

I just want to say that we had never been to Skiathos before. We were unable to find very much in the way of resort infromation on the web so we were unsure what to expect. Initialy we guessed it was going to be quite quiet with a few bars possibly trying to be like a mini Ibiza. We could only seem to find websites showing the beaches and some beautiful views. What we soon realised about Skiathos is that yes it is beautiful with its amazing views, massive variety of places to eat and clear blue seas but that maybe we were just a little to young for this type of holiday. Don't get me wrong there is a large strip of bars just past the port near a place called Scuna which could easily fit in with those of Ibiza but the energy isn't there. They look lovely and the drinks are good but don't try standing up and dancing because you may just be the only one. Instead we decided to just sit back relax and count the number of people wearing "Holiday White Pants". Skiathos does have the most clear seas with no sign of jellyfish or rubbish. It also has many places to eat offering a variety of Italian, Greek and other popular dishes. Skiathos town itself has a lot of shops selling the usual gifts but there are also some nicer shops selling that something special. It is definately worth a visit but you may sense a lot of Deja Vous as the island is pretty small and you end up being in the same place seeing the same faces. I recommend Scuna restaurant, the tapas bar situated above the main strip under the windmill restaurant mainly for its views. I also recommend visiting the bars on either end of the port. There is a lady who works at the end bar close to the church she is worth watching as she tries to fit everyone in with her floor cushions. You should also enjoy a film in the open air cinema as it makes a change to see stars twinkling above you whilst you watch a movie. We took a bus from outside our hotel (La Piscine Art Hotel) just past the pet shop from the main road to Koukounaries beach which is big and beautiful but doesn't have many shops. All in all worth a visit at least once in your life even if just for the ice cream near the cash point facing the port and for the people watching. Enjoy.

Just arrived back from holiday on the 17th June having spent a brilliant two weeks at the La Piscine. Very impressed with the hotel but especially with the staff who are currently working there ie Nadia, Stavros and Kris who made our stay that little bit special. Will definitely return there without a shadow of a doubt.
