This property has a mixture of Hotel rooms and Apartments and is located in a truly wonderful location over looking the ocean and between two excellent beaches at Kanapitsa. We stayed in a studio apartment and the room was clean and very comfortable with a small kitchenette for making tea/coffee etc, however we had b&b and the breakfasts were plentiful with a choice of eating inside or outside overlooking the ocean with simply breathtaking views. Staff were great, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. If I had to make one gripe it was the lack of decent sunbeds around the pool but this did not deter too much from a wonderful holiday. Due to a lot of steps not recommended for those with walking difficulties.
We cannot wait to return in 2007 !!

Wow! A lovely holiday all round made all the better by the staff at the plaza hotel, they made me and my family of five feel at home and welcome.

The perfect Relaxing holiday

My boyfriend and I decided we wanted a nice relaxing holiday with plenty of sunshine - and thats exactly what we got. The plaza hotel is situated with pine trees behind it and a beach a stones throw away. We went in mid June and it was surprisingly quiet so most days we didnt even have to rush to get a sunbed around the pool! We stayed half board which was a good choice, the food was lovely and although there wasn't a huge variety the staff were very friendly and we ate well every night. The beach by the hotel was lovely with a variety of watersports but 10 mins up the road there was, what we thought, an even better beach - it was much larger and we prefered the taverna on it. I would definitly recommend doing the three seater rings out on the sea - brilliant fun and they didnt manage to throw us out once!
We ventured into skiathos town about 5 or 6 times. The town is lovely, with a lovely high street full of shops although the smell of drains can be poigniont at times! We went ot the open air cinema there as well which was fantastic and definitly worth going to. As we were at the PLaza there was also the convience of a sea taxi, only 2 Euros each and a great way to get to town. The hotel itself was clean and well kept, the rooms were surprisingly big with powerful showers in the bathrooms and ample space on the balcony. By the end of the 2 weeks we could have done with another 2 although the weather was starting to get VERY hot. I definitly would suggest going around the mid June time as there is not as many tourists no fights for sunbeds around the pool or beach and temperatures you can sit out in. We would not hesistate to go back to the Plaza hotel but as we only looked around one half of the island (the holiday made us lazy!) it would be good to perhaps stay down the koukanaries end. I also recommend the boat trips - go through your travel rep - it was one of our best days on the island.
If you do go to the Plaza you are guaranteed a fabulous holiday, enjoy!!

Taxis The taxi drivers are crazy, 60mph through shopping streets packed with holidaymakers & children, one hand on wheel, one on mobile phone, cigarette in mouth, stereo on full. My wife had to demand he slowed down, with not much response!
