Fantastic holiday

What a fantastic island, we loved every minute of it. The situation of the apartments being a few minutes walk down a dirt track meant you were nice and secluded but not far away from anything, 10 mins to shops, 15 mins walk to nearest beach or 25 mins walk to more secluded beach through lovely trees, which offered some shade which was billiant. We only managed to visit a sample of the 66 beaches this tiny island has to offer and they were all lovely, but our favourite was Mandraki beach, although Koukanaries was good for the water sports and a little closer to the hotel. The staff were excellent and very friendly and we were fortunate enough to meet a superb group of people who all had children around the ages of ours. If I could change one thing, it would have been the prices in the restaurant and bar which I thought were a bit steep but other than that this was a top notch holiday and I am sure we will be back to the same resort!

Everything you read about this hotel does exactly what it says on the tin!Staff excellent, clean and comfortable surroundings. Just far enough away from the main road but not too far for an early morning swim!

The friendly welcome that u receive sets the holiday on a high, the beautiful pool with the bar conveniently placed on the poolside offering delicious cocktails. the owners are the friendliest people I have ever met, this is the perfect location for any holiday 5-10 mins to the best beach I have ever seen 10 -15 minutes to Skiathos town on a bus 2 mins to a string of restaurants and bars. Not that u need this when Myrtia has a pool, bar and restaurant offering delicious food, it is bliss, perfect 4 anyone! Single married and children Perfect will be back in 2007 with out a doubt!

What an amazing place! Set in those forests away from the madding crowds. We (married couple and friend) went at the end of September and had a fabulous holiday. All the staff were the best. Can't wait to go back - next year - already counting the days!The best

This was our third year running, that must tell you how good this set up is!. We are not alone in being repeatees, most of the people who holiday here are returning couples / families. Relaxing, good appartments, good people, good pool, good food and a great beach within walking dfistance. Downside is that it is about 500 meters up an unlite track.
Cant wait to get back there!

Literally got back 2 days ago and found this review site as I'm looking at booking for next year! absolutely loved it from the clean rooms to the gorgeous setting to the amazing friendly staff, Ramona and Achilles make everyone feel so welcome, would definitely recommend it.
Extremely friendly & well run complex

I spent a week at the Myrtia apartments with my partner & 3 young kids aged 5, 3 & 1. We were unceremoniously dumped off the coach by the roadside with our hand luggage & two prams and by the time we'd got ourselves sorted there was no-one in site & we didn't know where the Myrtia was! We followed a dusty windy track for about half a mile through a pine forrest and stumbled across the complex. I thought this was a bad omen to begin a holiday but I couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment we set foot in the complex to the time we left 7 days later we all had a wonderful time. I'd read the reveiws about how friendly Damitri & Mary were but forget about them because they've long gone. Achillies & Ramona run the bar & restaurant area now & they are fantastic hosts. Ramona is very warm and hospitable whilst Achilleas is your best mate life & sole of the party. His energy rubs off on you & gives you a little lift every time you speak to him. They follow the tradition of the acient Greeks who pride themselves on being extremely friendly, accomodating & hospitable. Their food is very good (though it took an hour to arrive one night) and is easily the best in Koukounaries. The complex is run by Alex & his partner who are also very friendly & approachable. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh linen & towels and I found the facilities to be clean & adequate for a family of 5. We got to know most of the other holiday makers who were all very impressed with the facilities. Much has been reported about the frequency that people return to this destination & I would certainly agree with that. This is a magical island with a beautiful sandy beach ideal for a family holiday. I've been to Corfu & Zante but this is much better than either of them. A word of warning to anyone expecting cheap & cheerful, this is no longer the case with an average evening meal costing about £45 including wine. Over 7 days it all adds up what with ice creams & juice. I must have spent about £700 with two additional trips to the cash machine on top of what I thought I would spend! I really enjoyed this holiday & I'm sure you would too. Go book!

I stayed at the myrtia apartments for one week may 2005 and I am returning this may for 2 weeks. It was the most enjoyable holiday I have ever had, quiet, relaxing and the staff were very welcoming. Everything was perfect from the quiet location to the wonderful evenings I spent at the on site tarvena. Looking forward to seeing you all again this year.
We keep going back!!

We will be staying at the Myrtia late September 2005 for the 7th time! It has everything you could want from a holiday. We are greeted like old friends by Mary & Dimitri on each visit, & this feeling of'coming home' is what keeps us going back year after year. The accommodation is good by Greek standards, more luxurious than most self catering stayed in previously. The resturant on site is excellent, & most nights we don't get any further than that! It's quiet in Koukounaries, so definately not suited to the Ibiza set, but for rest & beautiful surroundings, you can't go far wrong. & we'll go back next year again no doubt.
