As our first trip to Skiathos, our expectations of a relaxed holiday nearly turned out to be a nightmare. If it wasn't for Dimitri at reception, I would have had no hesitation in leaving the hotel, regardless of having paid for the duration. The woman owner needs to get a reality check and maybe be given a customer service course. She wouldn't let us have the umbrella's up in the scorching heat, she wouldn't let you sit at the downstairs area for breakfast (so they wouldn't have to clean up).It felt like concentration camp. Being of Greek decent, I understood every word she said when she scolded her staff telling them to move the guests away from these areas. We resorted to going to a beautiful beach, Agia Eleni, where thankfully, we sat and sipped frappe's and listened to soothing music. I have to admit, it's the best island I have ever been to and will be returning to Skiathos. These memories that I took back home with me, has made me forget the bad times at Golden Beach.
