thanks to the two girls who put in a sixteen hour day in eight hours,seven days a week, this has to be the cleanest accomodation in greece .we found the breakfast rather boring after a couple of days and the comfort of the beds left a lot to be desired.we did not find the family members overly friendly and felt more like an inconvenience than a paying guest. a small beer at the pool bar was 2.50 euro while 100 yards away the supermarket charged 67 cents for the same beer. unfortunately greece is now dearer for an evening out than the UK , irrespective of the exchange rate. wake up greece your going to lose alot of uk custom !!

Just returned after a lovely weeks holiday.
Costas and Mary is a really lovely place to stay.
It is so clean,you would think it was newly built.
The gardens are so pretty. The location was perfect, quite but just a short walk from all the bars and cafes.Costas and Mary are so nice and the waitress/cleaners are amazing. They will keep you entertained at breakfast. The breakfast is basic, not a lot of choice and the same each day. The only thing missing for me was a fridge in the room, but it certainly was a great place to stay. I would highly recommend staying in this little hotel. Skiathos is a lovely Island, I am glad we stayed in Skaithos Town, something for every age, but still nice and layed back.

From the moment we stepped through the gates it became apparent that this was a hotel which the owners were very proud of and only the best was good enough for their guests. Mary greeted us and showed us to our room, which was immaculate. The exteriour surroundings of the hotel was picture perfect with orange and lemon trees growing in the gardens. The pool and bar provided a great place to relax after a long day in the sun, ann rewind in the evening sharing your days adventure with the other guests. The most entertaining time of day though has to be at breakfast where Mary and the girls have so much energy it makes for one great way to start the day. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I have had several holidays abroad and 2007 was the first time in Skiathos, however we stayed in Koukounaries and found it a bit of a problem being so far from town. Then in 2008 we decided we wanted to come back to Skiathos and booked with Kostos & Mary, best thing we ever did. Not only is the place spotlessly clean but the staff are second to none. My husband burnt his feet badly and Mary took him to the clinic in town and spoilt him from then on by getting extra sun shades to cover his feet while lying round the pool, truly lovely people, and that is the reason we are going back again this year...

We stayed at Kostas & Mary for a week and just came back late last night. During our time there we mostly stayed near the relaxing swimming pool, however during the evenings we walked to Skiathos Town for the variety of restraunts and gift shops.

All staff [including Mary and her family] were extremely friendly and always seemed to brighten up the place with laughter. The surrounding were beautiful, and even the rooms were amazing.

We stayed at Kostas and Mary the second week of the season and found it to be spotlessly clean and comfortable. Just a short walk into Skiathos town, it had its own small bar and pool. Breakfast was a buffet that could have been more imaginative, but the two crazy girls who work for Mary make the meal anything but dull.

Top Local Tips for Skiathos

The windmill A fantastic location, high on the hill, overlooking the town, but we felt the food, even though it was excellent, was a little overpriced, the En Plo on the waterfront was just as good, but half the price.

Good and regular bus services to the beaches. Skiathos is a beach lovers ideal island. The island of tsougria is a most for beach fans.

SKIATHOS Take a private hire boat from the marine shop down club strip.Also eat at the Windmill resturant.Go there early to see the view by day before dark and try to prebook the Honeymoon table at no extra cost (its amazing)Go to see Mamma Mia in the open air cinama (Wear pleny of mossy spray!)
