We travelled with Libra holidays (whom i was not impressed with) in July. We were transferred by coach to our hotel but you could gget a Taxi as the town is only a couple of minutes away. On arrival at the hotel we received a warm welcome from the staff.It is a family run hotel and everyone was very pleasant and very helpful.The hotel is just off the main street,we were at the front of the hotel, which we thought would be very noisy but even with the balcony doors open there was no noise.The pool area was a good size and very clean. There is a pool bar,we were given free drinks at times by the family. The rooms were cleaned every day. The hotel breakfast wasn't very good, so we ate out, which was quite cheap. The local restaurants were all very nice, it just takes a few days to try and find your way around the cobbled streets. George's Restaurant on the harbour is highly recommended, if your a meat lover. There is a local beach which is very nice but you can get the local bus, which runs every 15mins to a number of beaches. It costs just over 1 Euro.The water is chrystal clear and the loungers and umbrellas cost 8 Euros a day(for 2). We went on a day trip, by boat to Skopelos, which has lots of pretty,winding streets. It was lovely.The nightlife was really good in Skiathos. You could go to a variety of bars. We particulally liked the bars on the harbour, with all the cushions. The greek people are all very friendly and i would recommend Skiathos and the Hotel Bourtzi to my family and friends.
