At least don't walk any more than a few yards as you are walking on the tarmac with the cars, bikes and buses and most are not driven safely! Take a torch each and use them whenever on or crossing the roads at night as there are no lights in most places and you will be as vulnerable as a rabbit otherwise. Do not take energetic children on this holiday unless your hotel is right on the beach. If you have to cross the road to get to your beach, bus stop or supermarket be aware of the significant danger. We made a bridge across a ditch in a ploughed field for safe route to the beach, but still had to rush across the road. If you hire a car you will be safer but this is expensive and as most roads are tracks here you will need a jeep if you want to explore. Just be careful and don't get drunk and stagger home on the road or you may never make it!
