We are returning to Skiathos in June for the 5th time and staying at the Alkyon for the 3rd time. Perfect position with wonderful views. A great holiday centre in Skiathos.

Wonderful hotel
We will be going back to Skiathos for the 7th time in July and are staying in the Alkyion hotel for the 5th time. We would not stay anywhere else. The hotel is situated next to the town overlooking the harbour with a wonderful breakfast terrace with great views, it is well managed and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Don't hesitate to book regardless of age, etc. Alan Jones

Good hotel
Read mixed reviews about this hotel, views and location are excellent, lounge very modern and upclass and pool and area are fine. Rooms are a bit basic, cleaners noisy in the morning but they made sure that the rooms were cleaned every day and clean towels were supplied each day. Would recommend skiathos town and this hotel without a doubt.

Ideal situation, great value for money
We booked the Alkyon from the internet, based on the position and the price. You are never sure if the hotel is going to come up to expectations but this one certainly did. It's perfectly placed beside the harbour. The view at breakfast from the terrace is stunning. Ok, the rooms could do with updating but they are clean, lovely to have a bath, and there are clean towels every day. We sat on the balcony in the evening with a gorgeous view across the harbour. The breakfast was fine, and the pool is an added bonus, particularly for such a reasonably priced hotel. We shall definitely go back.

Great Place!
The Hotel Alkyon is a fantastic value! Pros: 1) the hotel is ideally located just off the harbor in Skiathos Town. 2) the facilities are clean and spacious (minibar is a plus). 3) the beds are comfortable and the water is hot (there's tub, too!). 4) every room has a balcony with a sea view. 5) the included breakfast is hearty and delicious. 6) the pool is inviting. 7) pets are welcomed. 8) the price is an amazingly economical 50 EUR when the hotel compares favorably to hotels costing 150 EUR plus! 9) the staff is warm, friendly, English-speaking and helpful (another anomaly in Greece) Cons: 10) they don't accept reservations through Expedia (even though Expedia provides a confirmation number). Solution: Book directly with the hotel. Skiathos provides a much nicer island vacation destination than any of the Cyclades, with the exception of Santorini, and the Alkyon offers a luxurious resort feeling without flattening your wallet.
