Top Local Tips for Santorini
In a Nutsell! The bus to Fira is so easy - the bus stop is right outside the hotel and costs just 2 Euros each way. For the return journey get to the bus station a little before the departure time to guarantee a seat. Beach restaurants Volcano and Atlantis are lovely and offer great food at super prices - 6 min walk from hotel. Bobs Bar near to hotel Zorzis is very good, just the right amount of liveliness and great owners and staff. We found a great little take away for lunch - next to the supermarket - delicious gyros for 2 euros, 2 min walk from Hotel Zorzis.
getting around the island is small...40 minutes from one end to the other. but if you want to see it properly you definitely need to hire a car or motorbike. there is public transport, very nice buses with air conditioning but at peak times they all pass completely full as everyone goes in the evening to the same 2 towns over the caldera
Santo Wines and The Bakery Check out Santo Wines for the sunset evening. Santo is the best place for the sunset we liked it better than Oia and Spiros and Hiroko can direct you how to get there. The Bakery just 2 minutes away from the hotel is the best on the Island.
