Fantastic location for a peaceful holiday

Having just returned from a week in the Rivara Hotel we found it to be in an ideal location, quiet but a leisurly 10 minute stroll from the main village, the pebbled, not to busy beach and a host of good Greek eating places. The dramatic,arid landscape surrounding the Hotel was softened by the wonderful gardens within the Hotel complex and there was good sized swimming pool which was never crowded and sunbeds were readily available. The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms basic but very clean with fresh towells each day. Having been on other Greek islands we rated this venue quite highly, not splendid, but very pleasant, and we would return

For what we paid for it was well below the par. Staff weren't that friendly, quiet grumpy in fact. Arrived disappointed, especially as we were scheduled to be there for 2 weeks. Requested a change of hotel, which was granted the next day.

wonderful hotel

This is a wonderful hotel and apartments complex where the owner and his staff just cannot do enough to help you. The surrounding gardens are beautiful. It is not a huge hotel (as I thought from the pictures) - but was just right for us. We really enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We could always get a bed by the pool which was nice as the beach is very rocky. The vast majority of hotels in Kamari are set on one of the side roads leading to the main beach strip - their swimming pools are literally by the pavement! It was nice to stay in a hotel a short walk out of town (approx 7 mins). I also really liked the fact that towels and linen were changed on a daily basis, making our stay very comfortable. Rooms a little dark but a good night's sleep was guaranteed!
