We booked a room at Hotel Lignos for a 3 night stay. When we arrived, the bus met us at the airport which was a nice surprise because it was late and taxi's were not readily available.

However, we arrived into town and were dropped off down the road from the Hotel Lignos and told that is where our room is, like it or not.Thet didn't have rooms at the Lignos, only at this sister hote. We were given a room near the pool-which was a nice location, but this hotel was farther from town and down a hill, so travelling up hill made trips into town tiring. We had no remote for the air (the only way to operate) and the wrong remote for the tv. So it was not available through the stay. The room was basic, towels were old and well worn. The bathroom floor needed to be swept. The shower curtain was moldy and the shower leaked all over into the bathroom-water also came up into the bathroom through the drain in the floor.

The hotel staff were rude, they took my passport and refused to give it back unless I paid for the room upfront-and of course, I had no choice. They didn't speak English or pretended not to when it was convenient.

The breakfast looked like only juice and rolls-we never bothered.

I would not recommend this company and would never stay there again. The price was excellent but we stayed plenty of places with excellent values that had far better service and honest business dealings.

My girlfriend and I were booked to stay at this hotel in August, when we arrived our room was not ready and soon found out that it would not be available and that we had to go to another hotel a 20 minute walk out of the city central(pension anna) which was owned by the same woman as the Lignos. When we informed the owner..Anna...of our disappointment she proceeded to argue with us until we accepted the new location. We didnt want to spend half the day finding new accomodations and had already paid Anna for the Lignos room so
we conceeded. A typical "bait and switch" pulled off by a distrusful and argumentative owner.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL, YOU MAY END UP FORCED TO TAKE A DIFFERENT PLACE 20 MINUTES OUT OF FIRA CITY WITH AN ARGUMETATIVE OWNER WITH NO DISCOUNT.
