Check out the rest of the island Our recommendation is to stray from Fira and Oia and visit the Akrotiri area, where is more quiet and authentic. Also, try the tavernas in the area - less commercialized.
When - going around - dining Off season it was very quiet and peaceful. Pricewise also verfy advisable. A car would be recommended to go around (Pharos road, Akrotiri, Vlychada, etc). Zaphora restaurant in Akrotiri village was good and unusual (saffran dishes) and taverna Aeolos nearby on the road to Pharos (Lighthouse), with a beautiful view, very welcoming and with excellent fresh food (fish, octopus).

Simpel and clean furnishing, condition of the bathroom is varying from room to room. Unfortunately they use much chlorine and other chemical substances to keep it clean, so that the room, bath and towels smell of it. The water quality is not really god, as they get the water from a water truck every second day. At our whole stay we did not see one single person using the pool .
Kitchenette without equipment, only one rusty cooking plate! (=> you have to go in a Restaurant)
Long walk from the Hotel (hill-top-position) to the Restaurants and the bus stop in the town center, only a few busses per day!!! Very long walk to the beach. If you want to stay longer, you definitely need a car: 35 € per day minimum.
You cannot see the sunset from the hotel as suggested.
