| Stunning & Cosmoplitan |
| We have just returned from a two week break at the Lindos Princess,(21.09.05) and I would concure with some of the previous reviews that the hotel is of an exceptional standard. The rooms are quite spacious and most have a sea view or side sea view. The food was not piping hot, but we are on a Greek Island, but it was of a very good standard, and cooked well. The varieties at meal times was excellent, and the cheese board at dinner was unbeleivable (probably the best we have seen in many four and five star hotels we have stayed in.
As others have mentioned, Brits are out numbered, but from our point of view we enjoyed mixing and trying to communicate with the Greeks,French,Italians,Germans and Spanish. And our knowledge of foreign language is ashamingly poor. But bars do have a tendancy to bring people together.
We found the staff very receptive and once they realised we were from the UK they could not do enough for us.They said to us that during the period of our stay it was the highest number of British people they had seen all season. As most people are aware, this hotel is not listed in any major UK tour operator brochures,a point which I raised with the management team at the hotel. The reply was that they are at present reviewing their strategy for 2006/7.
Taxi's are a reasonable way of getting around.Lardos a nearby village was 3Euros,but apart from two side streets and a main square there's not too much there.(but the beer is cheap.Lindos is a must for anyone travelling to Rhodes, only a 9Euro Taxi fare from the Lindos Princess.
I would go back to this hotel again but it will need a repaint in 3yrs from now as ther sun is just starting to make its mark on some of the exterior. |
