brilliant place!!!from MissL
My dad used to go to this hotel every year because of the food the staff the location and the hotel in general, he loved it here, he asked myself and my husband to go to experience this hotel and we were not disapointed.
The location is fantastic a picturesque stroll to Rhodes town although not for the faint hearted, the History bar down the road was a must visit for a relaxed night out.
I would definately reccomend this hotel for anyone looking for a 2 week holiday of mixed actvity.
Rhodes Island is really amazing with lots of culture and history.
The room(163) was lovely and clean, and was freshened everyday but the best bit about the room was the fantastic sea view!
Breakfast was early but encouraged you to get an early start and make the most of the day. The food was nice, was a buffet style so you could pick what you liked. The waiters were really nice and made the meal times more enjoyable.
The main bar was quiet but often had entertainment and happy hours! Adam the barman was great and very entertaining but best of all he made great cocktails!!
The pool was great but deep! it was never too busy so you could enjoy a great swim.
The surrounding area of the hotel is fantastic with resturants and tavernas only a short walk away. there is always something to do like boat trips, coach trips or shopping! Rhodes town is only a short taxi trip away at only 6 euros a time.
We really really enjoyed ourselves and didn't want to come home! We'd definitely return and recommend the hotel and rhodes to other people! Rhodes truly is a beautiful place!
Fantastic value for money holidayfrom Jbelly77
On arrival we found that there had been no need to worry - the hotel was absolutely fine. It was clean and tidy. The maid was in the room every day changing sheets and towels and cleaning. We had a lovely refurbished room with TV and good working new fridge. The balcony had a sea view (fantastic for the electrical storm).
Food was good - the breakfast choice was excellent. Evening meals were a tiny bit repetitive but lovely all the same - again a good choice, hot or cold. The desserts in the evening were fantastic!
The hotel isn't in the best of locations, as in it's not central to anything. It's a short walk into Ixia, and a fair bit further into Trianda. It's an ok walk to Rhodes town and can be done on the beach for most of the way. There is however a regular bus service running from just infront of the hotel and taxis for the evening aren't too expensive.
If you like to sit on the beach then this isn't for you - you'd have to walk up to Trianda for a semi decent beach. We didn't go to Lindos which I believe has a lovely beach but is a good distance away.
All in all a fantastic good valued holiday.
wonderful hotelfrom tina.d.c.
The cleanliness and wonderful food was exceptional.
The staff are constantly working to make your holiday enjoyable.
Adam in the main bar is a great character and coctail maker, and made our evenings most enjoyable.
The entertainment is good, ie: dancing, karaoke night, singers, etc.
Bus service outside hotel, easy accessible and reliable. Taxi rank over the road via an underpath. Shops, tavernas etc all within 5 mins walk.
We will definately be going back.
The only downside of this holiday was that we had to leave and come home.!!
A very happy norfolk couple.
Enjoyable holidayfrom Traveler150
The hotel is quite spread out over well kept grounds and is made up of a main building and several annexe’s, there is a fairly large swimming pool with ample free sun beds around it and a pool side bar (not free).
The rooms are simply furnished but comfortable with plenty of storage space, there is also a refrigerator (not stocked), but no safety deposit box, although these are available at reception for 15 euro’s per week. Just a note, if you like a bit of peace and quite then make sure that you are allocated a room away from the main road as the road is fairly busy and therefore noisy.
The meals in the restaurant are all buffet style, there was a good choice of well prepared food both hot and cold available, although it may become a bit samish if your stay is for more than a week.
There is entertainment provided on most evenings at the hotel, which wasn’t too bad, but if you are looking for something a bit more lively then just take a taxi into Rhodes Town where there is plenty of nightlife to be found, disco’s, live music and bars, all open until the small hours.
All in all an enjoyable time was had and the Hotel Cosmopolitan would be considered for another stay in Rhodes.
holiday in cosmopolitanfrom popstain
the food was nice, although i was ill in the second week not sure if it was food poisening or just me being unlucky as i'm always ill on holiday, i was gutted that i couldn't eat. you have to get up early for breakfast, i went with my family and i was the only one who never got up for breakfast but just had something from the pool bar instead. i thought the barmen were awesome, i don't know how they do it, but they work their socks off everyday, i spent mostly every night in the pool bar, especially on happy hour. the entertainment wasn't brilliant, but the entertainment hosted by the animation team was the the most fun.
there is also the mian bar in the hotel with adam but its very empty but ideal if you want some peace or you have kids and want to keep an eye on them while they're in the games room, plus adam is very nice to talk to.
usually when i've been to hotels the kids rep have been a bit too full on, often taking up the pool with kids activities all day and being very loud talking into mics every 5 minutes but i the thought the animation team were very laid back, and managaed to get everyone involved in volley ball, and the kids occupied without being irritating, so that was great and they were always walking round chatting to guests and letting you know that if you need any help to ask them.
rodos town is just a taxi ride away, the old town is very nice but its a bit scary as you have people trying to drag you into their restaurants which is annoying. their are nice shops too, the new town is full of bars, restaurants, shops, its pretty standard, and should definetly visit.
the only negative thing i can say is that out hotel room was very basic, and a bit cramped for 3 people. and it was right next to the pool, everyone is by the pool by ten o'clock and they start playing music so you have to get up, but it wasn't good for me being ill the second week as it was impossible to go to bed early and sleep cause of the noise, but i can't complain, i fully recovered when i got home, and didn't let it ruin my holiday, me and my family had a wicked time, i wish i could go back
basic roomfrom .*.lisa*ma.*.
rhodes town was close only 6 euros in a taxi our kids 12 and 8 enjoyed the stay at the cosmopolitan . We had not been to grece before I did expect the rooms not to be up to the same standerd so I was not too dissapointed , the room was clean and we had the maid come in every day .But over all the holiday was great and woulld stay there again.
Top Local Tips for Rhodes
alexandros alexandros, definetly try this restaurant it is brilliant the food is brilliant and its such a chilled out atmosphere with impromptu greek dancing etc....
Dont stay at the cosmipolitan there is a lot better 4*'s in Ixia, Must be.
Taxis There are set prices for all destinations so make sure you know your price and don't get overcharged as we did on the second day. Also try speaking a bit of greek to restaurant staff as we got a free pudding in one place in the old town!!
