Top Local Tips for Rhodes
musts to do hire a car. visit rhodes old town at night and day. visit lindos lovley place. must have a day at tsambika beach its pure white sand with clear blue sea water and shallow great for kids. Also must go to south of island to PRASSONISSI this is where the two sea's meet, the Agean and the Mediterranean, its great you have a huge sandy beach which you drive your car right onto, and then you can have the day sunning on the beach and take your pick to which sea you take a dip in as you have one either side. it was amazing as the med was alot calmer but not as warm as the agean.
White Corners This is a great little pub with friendly staff nice food and great cocktails
Avra Beach hotel Be very carefull crossing the road at this hotel , it is very very busy walk up to the island about 500 yards from the hotel and cross it in two halfs

Date: Late September 2008
Plus: Hotel is clean and tidy, staff work hard to keep it that way. Reception staff was very helpful. Food acceptable and good choice, although cooked breakfast was not always hot. Evening meals were always hot.
Hotel convent for busses and taxies to Rhodes, and from there to other parts of Island.
Minus: Cats roam the dinning area, and are feed by patrons. They do their business in the area where sun beds are located. Not very hygienic. There is limited hot water, especially in the evening, when it is needed to prepare for evening meal.
Bedrooms over cluttered with beds not required, cramping space. (In our apartments there wer four beds for a couple)
There is no beach, and do not recommend swimming in sea, unless you are a good swimmer. Site on the small side, and in high season could become crowded.
Okay for children 1 to 5, but suspect older children may become bored with limited facilities. Entertainment limited.
