What a place - as we were arriving at 1 am it was dark a bit off the beaten track at night, but what a surprise we got in the morning. The rooms are basic but very clean. we had the pleasure of being up on the top floor roof apartment, what a view. Yes the aeroplanes were noisy, but that didn't put us off as we were expecting that as we knew it was near the aipport. The staff lola akis and family were fantastic couldn't do enough to help if you needed it. Yes, it's basic, but if you want a relaxing holiday go to the Anseli as it has all you need. This is the best holiday we have had and may I say I've had many. We are going again in September.

Hotel is clean and neat. Staff are quite helpful in case you need anything. Food that is prepared freshly is OUTSTANDING. (dont drink so i dont know about the bar stock) Rooms are a little bare, beds are kind of hard and you need to pay for the airconditioning/TV. The pool is long and pretty deep (3.5m deep)

there is a fair amount of noise coming from the aircraft that fly over the hotel to land at the airport 4 kms away (final approach, landing gear down, one could almost reach out and touch the planes ...seems like anyway..!) Very nice otherwise

The owners are so friendly they made us feel very welcome. The hotel was fully booked when we were there and everyone from couples to families enjoyed themselves. Akis the barman made the holiday with the entertainment he provided every night. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday within easy reach of restaurants and sightseeing around Rhodes.

Wonderful,quiet,friendly and good food. Close to the main city, with buses running regularly every twenty minutes. Suitabale for all ages, particularly families. My own 5 year old grandson enjoys visiting and becomes upset if we don't take him. Like most people that have been before and have been encaptured, my husband and I go to the Anseli at least once a year.

Top Local Tips for Rhodes

Hire a scooter To get around hire a Scooter its the only and best way to see the real Rhodes explore and get a feel for the real Rhodes

Shopping Dining and Sightseeing. There are a few small shops in Kremasti Village, but if you hop on the bus you can visit the nearby places of Iallysos and Ixia where ther are a number of supermarkets and shops. Cost of fare on the bus 1.30 euros. Time to get there about 10 -15 minutes. If you want to travel a little further then Rhodes Town has everything you need. cost of fare 1.80 euros or 11 euros by taxi. time by either method about 20 minutes. Buses are frequent from the village Square from early morning to quite late in the evening, and run about every 30 minutes. Last bus from Rhodes Town back to Kremasti about Midnight. From Rhodes Town you can get further busses to just about everywhere on the Island, e.g. Faliraki, Lindos and at very reasonable rates. Wherever you visit there are plenty of Tavernas, Restaurants and Cafe bars all serving very good food and all at reasonable prices, although the price of drinks in the Old Town could vary from one place to another so check before ordering.

Getting Around Try using the bus. It runs frequently and is also cheap. Far to Rhodes Town 1.80euros. From Rhodes Town you can get further buses to just about anywhere on the Island and again all the fares are very reasonable. Taxis are plentyfull and can be flagged down. Price vary depending upon where you want to go, but all fares are itemised at the Taxi ranks and what you see listed is the price you pay.
