Top Local Tips for Paros

Slow Boat to Pireus On no account take the Milena ferry from Paros to Pireus (departs Paros 03.50). I missed a flight and had to spend an extra night in Athens as I believed the timings shown on the schedule. This is the SLOW boat and is always late I subsequently discovered. Better take a quicker ferry during the day and at least have a planned night in Athens if necessary!

beaches from Naoussa There are fishing boats that leave Naoussa port every 30 minutes from 10 am, that take you to the main beaches on the north of the island,and pick up until late evening. If you don't want to bother hiring a car or scooter, this is a great, cheap way to get around. Highly recommended is Kolibithres beach, including the Velia taverna across the main road at the back of the beach.

Try the Chinese Food in Paros! Take a break from gyros, tomatoes and cucumbers and try Raj Mahal Indian and Chinese Restaurant. It is right on the main strip in the "city center" of Paros. the owner is very friendly, the food is great and affordable and you can relax with some banana flavored tobacco in a hooka afterwards! Very tasty!
