The Porfyris hotel on Nisyros is the best on the island offering a freindly reception and clean comfortable but very small rooms at a reasonable rate. Room rates include breakfast which is a simple continental style bread, cheese, ham and eggs with cereal and yoghurt also. The rear of the hotel has a nice pool (salt water) and shady areas and sunbeds. Rooms are cleaned every day
My only gripe with this hotel is that the downstairs toilets by the swimming pool are hardly ever cleaned and left in a disgusting state with overflowing baskets of used toilet roll!! You can imagine the smell. The cleaners can not be bothered for some reason and the manager is not checking! Why they dont clean them is beyond me as the rest of the hotel and the rooms are spotless. The hotel have recently refurbished the rooms with new floors and bathrooms. Overall a nice stay - but clean those toilets!! please.
