We stayed for three nights and I can confirm the first posting: Everything is very nicely done and the owners are absolute superb in arranging everything.

3 more things:

- Parking is sometimes available in front of the house
- The house is in a very quiet corner of the city but restaurants and the city centre is just round the corner
- Free wireless internet is offered for all guests and quite fast

I absolute recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to travel to Nafplio!

This hotel was formerly the owner's home. The rooms are furnished for comfort and understated elegance. Our shower was one of the best that we have ever experienced. Breakfast is substantial with yogurt, fruits, and local pastries. The hotel is located in the center of the old city. You may park your car free in the large lot next to the harbor. A 500 meter walk to the hotel. The only drawback for some is the one flight walk-up to the greeting area and rooms. No elevator.

Top Local Tips for Nafplion

Mycenae There is a bus to Mycenae which leaves from the bus terminal each day - just three town blocks from Hotel Aetoma. Of course the bus also returns to Nauplion bus terminal. this was an incredible day trip. The bus trip takes about an hour to get to Mycenae, where you can then explore Agamemnon's palace ruins.

If you're taking public transportation to Nafplion I took a cab from Athens airport to Nafplion for app $130 euros. My cousin took the public bus from Athens for $11 euro and it took only about 35-40 minutes longer

Driving in Nafplio Don't try to drive to a hotel in the old part of town; park on the perimeter & walk - it's not far (though may involve lots of stairs!)
