We stayed for 2 weeks in May this Year [2005]. If you read the published 'brochure' details of this Hotel you'll expect a Restaurant [closed] room service [not available] pool bar [closed] snack bar [never open] lounge bar [never open] satellite TV [no english channels].
Then there's the bathrooms; shower rooms actually and you need to leave the curtain open whilst using it or risk being smothered in plastic. The terrace / balcony has room for 2 chairs... period. Despite all this we really enjoyed our stay. The owner is charm itself and was there every day to check if we needed anything. He recommended several restaurants and bars and they all turned out to be first class. Breakfast [ continental] from 8am to 10 am in the breakfast room but we didn't bother with it. There was a fridge in the room so we bought at the local supermarkets and there was no problem with bringing food or drinks into the Hotel.
Ornos itself is a delight. The 'Cafe Bar Orno' on the beach is to die for; white marble, gold appointments, billowing chiffon and the GREATEST music. [Nina Simone, Dean Martin, Sinatra etc.]. Also the Lefteris Grill for the BEST steaks, chops and roasts ever. We're going back in September......
