Hotel Tagoo is the best! Thanks Anna!from Stephen_Lee
I have read the reviews in TripAdvisor and chose this hotel for staying for 3 nights. Now I find no one is lying here! Hotel Tagoo is the best in Mykonos! We were picked up by hotel's car when arrived at the airport and then transferred directly to hotel. It's free of charge! The hotel is very beautiful and quiet. It was built at traditional greek style. We booked 2 rooms(1 x twins room and 1 x triple room). We could see the breathtaking sea view by just opening the door or window. Rooms are very clean with full facilities. The hotel is not far away from town. Just walk 10-15mins. All staffs are very nice, helpful and friendly, especially Anna, the boss of the Hotel Tagoo! She treated us as her family! And finally the most important thing is, the rate is not high!
What else do you want? You may find them in Hotel Tagoo!
Believe the hype...from KlausTheInspector
Firstly booking. ONLY BOOK DIRECT THROUGH THE HOTEL. Contact Tagoo via their website (hoteltagoo.gr) - all my emails were answered within 24 hours. We paid 420 euros, or £283, for 7 nights, although sensibly breakfast is NOT included in the rate, giving you the flexibility to eat here or in town. We raved to some rich Americans how great Tagoo was for the price, and their mouths opened wider than a Mykonos pelicans beak. They had paid nearly the same for one night as we had for the whole week.
As for the hotel itself, the website states with no exaggeration that the rooms are spotless. A fridge (probably cleaner than your own), satellite TV, and A/C all give the rooms at Tagoo added kudos. All have small balconies or terraces with awesome views of the bay and famous sunset.
What really sets Tagoo aside from any other hotel I’ve stayed in is the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. I’ll leave introductions to earlier reviewers, but Anna’s main concern is that your holiday goes smoother than the white corners of a Greek house. This is done with the same energy as the wind than blows across the island and is all in a refreshingly unusual manner and style that I guarantee you’ll never have experienced before.
The pool area managed by Jimmy could easily be that of a more luxurious hotel, with a daily soundtrack of cool Café del Mar style beats forming an appropriate backdrop. This place is more Balearic than most bars in Ibiza and could easily give some of the venues on the famous Ibizian “sunset strip” a run for their money.
The only true drawback to Tagoo is perhaps its location on the outskirts of Mykonos town, and at the top of a steep road. The walk in will take between 10-15 minutes, and ranges from the pleasant (morning of day 1), to borderline arduous (evening of day 7). However, the very hill that you have to climb is also the one that offers such fabulous views of the bay, so it’s a price worth paying, especially when you’re sat at the bar with a cold drink watching one of the best sunsets in the world.
If your yardstick for hotel standards is a Manhattan Sofitel, then Tagoo is not for you. This is no 4 star luxury, with “his & hers” bidets and a Corby trouser press. Furnishings & bedding are basic, and the bathroom is the ubiquitous Greek standard of bad tiling and loose shower. You’ll also need bottled water to brush your teeth - the tap water tastes like its come straight from the Yangtze River, whilst the smell that sometimes emanates from the plughole is true downtown Cairo in the heat of summer. However these are issues that any seasoned traveller to Greece, indeed most parts of Europe, should come to expect.
On our last night, Anna kindly held a party for her guests, treating us to one of her speciality dishes, drinks, and Greek dancing, and proving once again that Tagoo’s customer service is second to none.
With Anna at the helm I see no chance of Tagoo losing its crown. (As of September 2006, Hotel Tagoo is ranked number one in Tripadvisor for Mykonos).
Many, many thanks again to Anna and the staff (and Tripadvisor for that matter) for an unforgettable holiday.
Wonderful Place, Absolutely Recommended!from TallTravler
The rooms are simple but very spacious and clean. Anna was gracious enough to move us to a room with a private balcony on our last night there. Breakfast is also simple but is very convenient. This is the one area where there could be improvement, although it's optional anyway.
The pool area is a great place to relax and get away from the crowds in the town and at the beaches. There is a wonderful view from the pool area, and the sunsets are amazing (the picture is unfortunately sideways). While the hotel location allowed you to remove yourself from the crowds, it was also very convenient and only a short walk into town.
Based on everything I had heard about how expensive Mykonos was, I was amazed at how reasonable the rooms were at Hotel Tagoo. As a student, I was relatively limited in where I could stay. However, even when I return and can afford something more expensive, there is little doubt in my mind that I will return to stay at the Hotel Tagoo. Defintiely stay here, you won't regret it!
I had some difficulty booking the hotel (not at all the fault of the hotels), so please email me at TravelerEd@hotmail.com if you're having any problems, and feel free to ask any questions about the place.
Simply great! A holiday to rememberfrom ElleM_75
Anna is the greatest host a traveler would have the chance to meet: she has recommended me the best restaurants, beaches and spots of the island and she has been available at all times for any further assistance. Yanni and Jimmy (her husband and brother) as well were always there for a chat.
At the same time, the hotel’s rooms are nice, clean, fully equipped and comfortable – and the rates are fair, excellent value for money! Hotel Tagoo is also perfectly located - walking distance to the Chora and with a remarkably view onto the Aegean Sea.
Therefore: warmest hospitality + nice rooms + great location + best price = a perfect holiday!
So, book a room and do not miss the chance to enjoy the breathtaking sunset on the hotel’s pool side drinking Jimmy’s special cocktails!
Felt like homefrom treasures
The views from the hotel were just spectacular and we loved watching the sunset every night by the pool. The rooms were really spacious and comfy and only about 5 to 10 minutes walk to town. The breakfast was delicious and we got quite hooked on the delicious Frappe's made by the hilarious bar man Jimmy who we loved spending time with.
We became addicted to being on the island because it was just so magical and I know we loved it so much more because of staying at Hotel Tagoo. It is the only place that we have made a promise to ourselves that we will return. We miss Anna, Jimmy and Yannis already but know we will see them very soon.
Thankyou so much for having us and making our experience like a fairytale. We think you guys are great and hope others get the chance to experience this gorgeous place and the wonderful people a part of it. We will cherish this memory forever.

A memorable stayfrom Constantine01
Usually, the place where you stay during your holidays is the last thing you remember. Personally, I've found myself staying from little dingy dark rooms (especially during my teen years, where saving money was a must!), to luxurious posh hotels with most of the amenities provided but always at the "right price".
A couple of years ago I had the extreme fortune to meet Anna and Yiannis, owners of hotel Tagoo in Mykonos. I decided to give their place a try as it sounded decent and at a reasonable price. End of the day, when you're there for the partying do you REALLY care where you stay???......
Four days later I was in tears saying my goodbyes to these guys. To my pleasant surprise hotel Tagoo turned out to be an experience by itself. Just imagine comfortable rooms with an amazing view of the blue sea, a pool that makes you feel like you're actually swimming in the ocean, the most romantic sunset that makes feel rich inside, quiet, and with friendly, caring people constantly around you.
Hotel Tagoo is a family owned place. Anna and Yiannis are always around, as well as Anna's brother Jimmy and her older son Theodor. These guys will make you feel at home by any means possible. Within your first day there you'll see them as your new friends. By the end of your stay they will be family!
It's true that hotel Tagoo is not your typical, five star "luxurious" resort with room service 24 hours a day and a frequent supply of strawberries and champagne. If that's what you're strictly looking for then clearly it's not the place for you. But if you would be willing to stay in a place that will give you many memories in the years to come, always at the best value for your money, then do yourself the favour and try it out. Upon your return you will find yourself in front of the computer writing a similar review!

Unforgettable vacationfrom comp
The rooms were very clean, the breakfast just perfect and the view of the sunset from the pool incredible.
Anna gave us many useful advices and helped us to rent a car on the spot.
On the last night they organized for all the guests a Greek party.
Yannis showed us why he is considered the best syrtaki dancer in the island and Anna made some fantastic spinach pies.
In the morning Anna droved us to the airport and we all got quite emotional.
Mykonos is a very beautiful island, but what made our vacation magic was Anna and her family who run the place with all the heart and soul.
We left our hearts there and we hope to return sometime in the future.
So, if you look for a place who has all: hospitality, good location, great value, spectacular view, authentic cuisine and music (even dance lessons), Hotel Tagoo is the best choice.
Thank you Anna, Jimmy and Yannis for an unforgettable vacation!
