Continental breakfast consisted of a jam roll and juice and tea. Rooms never cleaned, carpet hanging of skirting, towels and beds changed only once and had to make up the rest of the bed our selves,towels stayed damp from Tuesday as we had no sun on our balcony for them to get dry. Glass exploded by the pool, cleaned it up off the side was told there might be some in pool but never botherd to check and there was some in there. Tey where told again on Sunday morning and it was still in there time we left Sunday eveining. Staff was rude, seemed they could not be botherd as it was there last week. Also in the reception area, the toilet was not cleaned and the shower facilities was disgusting. Only one shower for every one to use in where the toilets and a mingy shower curtain. Men and woman walking in and out to use the toilet why you are trying to have a shower. I will certainly not be recommending this hotel to anyone and it says that it has been refurbished.

Robbed while we slept

The family were miserable and uncaring and even when robbed in our own room as we slept they were totally uncaring of the situation. Who the other reviewers are talking about I am unsure..........when they say helpful??
Once robbed they didn't offer compassion another room or any explanation of how this could have happened. Not sure where word "FRIENDLY" has come from; one out of the 5 family members gave vague resemblance of a smile whole time we were there. Not recommended unless you want £1.5k worth of belongings to go missing while you sleep.

What an absolute delightful place to stay, the family are great and the place is lovely, this my 6th or so time here and am due to go end of september again

What can I say, The Bel- Air has been a Family favourite for number of years, and for us now is like home from home! The family who run the hotel are very Friendly and extremely helpful. We have already stayed at the Bel Air once this year and were amazed by the refurbishment work that has been carried out, We are booked to go back again in at the end of August for 2 Weeks and can't wait to return.

Appauling customer service!

This place may look nice, but they have absolutely zero understanding of the concept of customer service.

When trying to book a room last week (in low season, so you might think they would be trying extra hard to please customers) I was treated like utter dirt by the management. They had a terrible attitude from the outset, and were very rude to me when I merely asked if they were able to offer a discount on their rack rate due to the fact that it was low season. I was so shocked and I feel this kind of behaviour cannot go unnoticed.

People like this dont deserve to be in business. There are much nicer, friendlier places to stay in Nidri. Dont stay here!!

My husband and I stayed at the Bel Air for 1 week. We were made extremely welcome and enjoyed our stay so much we are returning this year (2006) for 2 weeks.The family were available if we needed anything and were fantastic when my husband had an accident on his moped. Fortini and Asposeia were delightful and made our stay memorable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Top Local Tips for Lefkas

Harbour front tavernas The best places to eat in Nidri are the Tavernas overlooking the harbour. The Elidor bar at the bottom end of the harbour is a great place for some pre dinner drinks and then take your pick from the Tavernas for something to eat. Mandarinos ( opposite where the ferries come in ) is really excellent.

Waterfalls!! We went in October so there was hardly any water in the waterfalls. If you want to visit when the waterfalls are running, I've been told that the best time to go is in April/May. Also be warned that the tourism business there doesn't seem to run all year round. We went in the second week of October and a few of the tavernas and other business were starting to pack up for the season by the end of the week, so try to visit before then.

You mast visit.... Hire a car with air-con. You can bargain for the price. Visit the beaches in the west coast (Katriki, Egremni, Muli, Kathisma) . They are amaising. Bear in mind that there are many steps esspecially in Egremni beach. The final stairs in this beah are wooden and stip. If you have children bear in mind the waters are deep. Also the road is narrow...good driving skills needed.... But worthy to go. Katsiki beach is easily accessible but occassioanlly crowded. The Kathisma beach s well organised. and the most easily accessible. Finally, spend a day in a boat day-cruise running from the Nidri marina and visits Keffalonia, Ithaki, Skorpios islan
