Not good enough

When we arrived at the hotel, it looked great on the outside, and not bad walking through to reception. Then we get taken to our rooms, well the beds where for the seven dwarfs, they were that low, you may as well of slept on the floor. The room looked nothing like how it is advitised, there was no nice throw over the beds the curtains were torn and the lining had holes, dirt under the beds, the bath plug hole was full of crap, and the air-con was not much use.
the blankets were also dirty that were at the bottom of the bed.Obviously i complained, nothing was done about it.The food was just awful, none of it was labeled and it was the same every single day, hardly any choice, in the end we ate out.As for the all inc drinks, forget it, hardly any, so again having to pay out to have a drink too.Basically we was sold an all inc holiday, and for what we paid as a family, the Thalassa was not up to standard, it could not cope, alot of changes need to made there for the place to succeed.Oh and dont bother complaining to the staff about things, they just shrug there shoulders and walk away, mainly because of the language barrier, no customer service at all.

Great Family Hotel for Europeans

This hotel was everything it claimed in the borchures! Hot water problems? In 14 days there, we had very hot water 13 days, with warm water once....but remember all heating/etc is provided by electric batteries charged by solar power - as is normal in Kos! The food?...nothing wrong with it at all if you dont mind Greek foods, with some excellent Swordfish, Cuttlefish, and really good meat dishes available. If you are a vegi...dont worry, there was a wide selection for these tastes too...all with a Greek/Med flavour...can see how this place would not suit somebody from the usa, or from the uk if you dont speak another european language. hotel guests were mainly german/dutch, with a sprinkle of others. not a problem for us, as we are a multi lingual family, and as all well seasonsed travellers know, the dutch speak better renglish than the british!! if going all inclusive the only down side is that the selection of drinks is limited to tea/coffee/beer/local brandy/oj...and not much else!
entertainment was good...and was all about how much effort you put in to enjoying your holiday...if you are the type not to join in...dont bother!
overall, a great hotel, with pleasant staff, good food, clean accomodation, far enough away from larger louts to be quiet, but near enough for a night/day out in kos. would recommend to suit a famiy of pro-european, non fussy eaters, who want a relaxing family holiday away form it all!

Overall we had a great time in Kos, but Thalassa hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere! There are no restaurants or snack bars anywhere within walking distance, unless one takes the bus (runs 1 every hour outside the hotel) and travels ten minutes to the centre of town. The hotel room was quite cozy and clean (unless you are the type who checks for dust under the bed). The problem was the noise! Our room was just opposite some kind of ventilation system which was quite annoying. About 30 rooms on three floors were affected by this continuous noise (from 8am – midnight). Also, if you are the type who takes a quick shower before bed, then forget about that! There was no warm water after 11pm!!! When we complained at the reception desk, although polite, they just told that it was too late for having warm water after 11pm!!! The breakfast wasn't that good either: bread slices were not fresh, and on busy day, after 9.30am, it's hard to find any bread left! Scrambled eggs where also just too raw to even look! To be completely honest though, I must say that Thalassa Hotel has a pretty good animation team, which organises various activities, such as aqua aerobics, water polo, ball games, etc. Enjoy!

The hotel has little warm water, no good cooked food, and way to much noise. However, the room was clean, and good activities.
