Very poor hotel, nice resort

Our experience staying at the Kordistos Hotel was pretty awful. Our room was a reasonable size but that was all that was good about it. It had no drawer space, it was dirty and the bathroom was so small and dark the toilet was more or less in the shower. Traffic noise could be heard from the main road outside and breakfast was not enough to satisfy one field mouse. we would not recommend this accommodation to anyone. The saving grace was the resort of Kefalos which was quiet, relaxed with great choice of reasonably priced tavernas and had a sprinkling of low key bars.Take a day boat trip from the local harbour to the volcanic island of Nissyros which will be a highlight.

The Kordistos Hotel was pathetic, Tiny room with no drawer space. Cleaning a poor standard and bedding not changed. Breakfast included What breakfast!! One side of hotel faces onto main road which you are not told when booking. traffic noise from motorbikes using it as a race track during the night.

Best holiday ever!

My family and I have recently got back from our 2 weeks holiday at the Hotel Kordistos and it was absolutly fantastic! We couldn't have asked for more. Before we went we had read the reviews on this site and many more and we where very worried about what we would find when we got their. The bad reviews what have been written are quite harsh as I no the family would do anything to make their quest's feel as weclomed as possible. The rooms where basic and the bathrooms where small. The rooms were cleaned ever day and fresh towels were provided also. For your breakfast you could help yourself to loads of juice, tea, coffee and a roll with butter and jam. If you fancied anything else for your breakfast there was loads to choose from at very little price. For ex-sample bacon, egg and beans was about 2 euros. The little restaurant does fantastic food. I would definitely recommend there chicken gyros. The pool was always clean but quite deep and they are two baby pools for the smaller kids. From the pool you walked down a couple of steps and you were on the beach! The beach and the sea are wonderful. The sea is great for snorkeling, as they are loads of little fish. The views are fantastic. There is a small island in the sea, it is a short walk and swim away with a tiny church on it. It looks really pretty. The family who run the hotel are the loveliest people we've ever meet! They were always there if you wanted any help and made us so welcome. They treated us as we where apart of their family. As for the surroundings of the hotel they are many bars and restaurants. I would recommend the Opa Opa cocktail bar just a short walk away from the hotel, Hubs opposite the hotel, Herpocrotes at the side of hubs, Captain Johns just before you get to the harbour and Afrodite along the harbour front. The chef of this restaurant cooks in the window. The shirmps and the steaks are gorgeous from here. They are loads of trips you can go on through you rep. I recommend the Greek Night. This was a great night. The food, the music and the dancers were fantastic!! When you go don't miss out on this night!! If you like shopping you will have to travel into Kos Town as there are only supermarkets in keferlos. You can get there on the bus, the buses have air conditioning. It takes around 50 minutes on the bus to get there. Kos Town is full of shops and restaurants. You can hire mopeds, quad bikes, buggies and cars cheaply if you want to explore the island. We've only been back two days and we wish we where still there looking at that great view with a nice cocktail in our hand. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

Room was like a prison cell

The Kordistos Hotel was pretty abysmal. Our room was one the lower ground floor and had very little light, it was the size of a prison cell. Very few facilities in room no air conditioning, no television no nothing!!. Breakfast was non existent and we found he owners rather money grabbing. The only saving grace was the hotels location right on the beach. Defiantly one to give a miss.

A prime location right on the beach and within easy walking distance of Kefalos resort centre. The staff are helpful and the rooms are clean albeit on the small size. A good swimming pool with sun beds and a bar. Breakfast to be kind at the best was basic!! and the same every day. if location is your priority then despite a couple of minor shortfalls we would recommend this hotel.
