The hotel is far from anywhere - if you don't want to rent a bike or car for the whole stay you'll need to depend on public transportation. A single ticket to Kos cost EUR 0.70 (if you buy it on the bus you pay EUR 0.90). Don't expect much from a 3* hotel. The rooms are small, so are the bathrooms and balconies. The greens surrounding the hotel look miserable (not to say pathetic). I found the meals horrible. No choice for breakfast, cold and recycled waste for dinner. Repulsive indeed. The service is very friendly, English and German speaking. I truly believe that they'll do their best to assist you, that's Athina's strong point.
