Olympic Airlines Make sure you leave the island a few days before you have to get your plane home from Athens. We arrived at the small airport in Kythera to take a plane back to Athens (really the only way to get back) and were told that the airlines might be on strike for the day. Opps! You might have to wait on the island an extra day or so if this happens so, leave enough time. The plane did come (a few hours later) and all went well.
