Staff were miserable - facilities were limited in useage - ie jacuzzi only allowed to be on for 10 mins per time.) Kids were told to be quiet at certain hours as people were sleeping ( at 2 in the afternoon !!)
Guests were told not to use there own kettles & electrical items in rooms as this used too much electricity.
Bar closed at midnight on the dot. One night we had the lights turned out on us while we were still sat there. Not a place to go if you want enjoyment of any kind.

Comfortable accommodation and incredibly friendly and informative staff. Hotel is 2 mins from the beach and has a great pool too. The best holiday I've ever been on.

Top Local Tips for Kefalonia

Small island good for relaxing breaks Most of the buildings on Kefalonia were destroyed in the 1953 earthquake so there are very few historical sites. It appeared to me that the more attractive resorts and beaches are in the north of the island, particularly Fiskardo and Assos. Mirtos (north west) and Katelios are good beaches, the latter known for its turtles. The interior is well worth visiting with impressive mountains and lush vegitation, particularly the road between Argostoli and Poros and between Poros and Sami.

IF GOING TO SKALA, SUGGEST YOU HIRE A CAR Buses in this area of Kefalonia re few and far between - buses from Skala only seem to go to Poros and Argostoli (you can also get to Poros by boat). Buses only go two or three times a day in each direction, so if you miss one, the choice is between waiting several hours for the next one or getting a taxi home.

Bus services in Skala If staying in Skala and not going on organised trips, hire a car - bus services are few and far between and if you miss your return service the choice could be between a taxi and a wait of several hours
