Perfect Place to Chill

This friendly hotel provided everything you could want to get away from it all. The staff and holiday rep (Ed) were all so helpful and pleasant. The only bad thing about this place .... you have to come home !

The hotel was fantastic!. The food in the restaurant was really nice, and the waiters were really friendly, and so were the people at the bar, and the woman in the snack bar. They also managed to keep everyone calm when there was a forest fire, and tried to make everyone who was evacuated comfortable at the san giorgio.
Loved the karaoke night, and the greek night, and the cocktails, which were really nice!. Although i didn't enjoy sharing my breakfast and my dinner with the wasps. But, apart from that, the hotel was really good!.

Going for the 10th year. Very clean, very friendly staff in all areas, entertainment good, magnificent views from all the rooms, 2 great pools also children's pool, plenty sun beds
This is a family run hotel and they can not do enough to make sure everyone has a great holiday.

Great place. Far enough out to have a feeling of exclusivity and close enough to what (thankfully) still passes as "the strip". Two of the (3) swimming pools were still bedding in but will doubtless blend in to the immaculate gardens. Staff friendly and hard working to make us wingeing Brits have a good time despite our hang ups. Bus into Skala (lovely place)on time and stops where it does for obvious reasons. I went with the Ex - not an easy one - and she didn't have a bad word to say all week (Bloody Marvelous!)

This really was the iceing on the cake for us after our wedding. The hotel staff are so nice and friendly especially Makis. The views from your window are just breathtaking when you watch the sun come up! We hardly ever left the complex it was extremley relaxing and the kittens were just to cute!!! Thank you for such good memories! xxx

Fantastic hotel

I was incensed to read a review that I found very unfair, even though it was last year that I was there. There is no way this hotel deserves 1 as a rating. I feel if someone cannot write fair constructive critism they should not do a review at all. I witnessed one morning when up at 06 00 to watch the sunrise, that the staff who had still been working the previous night when I went to bed at about 01 00, were up and working, cleaning around the pool, the patio areas etc. I do not know when they slept and yet they still had a smile on there face. As for the courtesy bus it did not have to be put on by the hotel as for the 10-minute walk they had to do, they must be bone-lazy if they think that's far. Many a time we walked in the whole way to Skala and that took about a pleasant 40 mins. Maybe people should research were they are going ,more or if they have gone with a travel agent they should take there concerns with who they have booked with. The family owners were all helpful and friendly and took part with entertainment in the evenings .The restaurant was excellent value for money and I certainly hope to return again. All I can say is god help the next hotel this person goes to.

No Joke

The hotel was clean and staff friendly but thats all I can say thats good about San Giorgio. The location is terrible, miles from anywhere. The restaurant food is bland and service dreadful, we waited ages just to get a menu, the mini market is a complete waste of time, crappy souvenirs but cant even buy fresh bread. If you risk putting your life in the hands of the courtesy bus driver you are dumped on the outskirts of Skala and still have a ten minute walk to and from the centre which is no joke if you have heavy groceries .

Been back here for a 4th time and as always, had a fantastic holiday. Did not want to go back to UK. Kefalonia is magical, have returned to the island 16 times and will never tire of it. San Giorgio perfect, staff wonderful, views amazing. Anyone that does not like this place does not deserve to be there!

Everything about this holiday was top class. Just couldn't fault it. I was really impressed by the staff, nothing was too much trouble. I would go again.

We have stayed here twice now & are going back in
4 weeks can't wait. I call it my 2 weeks in heaven.
the staff are so friendly & helpful; the facilities are excellent & very clean.
I feel like I am going to my 2nd home.

Top Local Tips for Kefalonia

General Tips Do hire a car unless you want to sloth about at the hotel and not move. You can get a taxi to the nearest town which has bars and restaurants. It is not the place for you if you want heavy nightlife/discos etc. Hiring a car will enable you to see lovely parts of the island which may otherwise remain inaccessible by public transport (if there is any!). This is a lovely unspoilt Greek island not tainted by mass tourism as yet... tranquil, beautiful and very relaxing.

Trip to the Onnasis Island This is a must do trip - fantastic!

The airport Had to queue outside the airport for about three hours as it's so small
