After booking our holiday to this hotel we read some of the reviews and if we had read them first we would have been put off, so having had one of the best holidays we've ever had we wanted to tell other people about it.
The hotel its self was very nice, the lady owner and her family made sure we felt welcome and always had time to stay and chat, we have made some lovely friends. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis. Each room has air-conditioning and a fridge and on-suite, and a belcony over looking the sea front.
One part of the beach was a bit rocky as you got in the sea but once you were in, it was soft and sandy under foot.If you went down the beach a little it was very sandy and the whole beach was safe to bathe.
The breakfast was buffet stile and there was a good choice, we enjoyed it all.
We give this hotel a rating of 10 out of 10 and it is well deserved. Our many thanks go out to Elizabeth the owner and her grandson Dimitris and his lovely girlfriend Ana and everyone at the Poseidon Hotel xxx

Top Local Tips for Kefalonia

Make sure you choose the right day trip! Here's the tip: there are many options as far as choosing a day trip / excusion goes, cheap ones, expensive ones, tour operator, private ones, etc etc. From experience of many different trip providers in Kefalonia, the TOUR OPERATORS' trips are far more informative, and although slightly more expensive, better value for money, more educational, and overal more worthwhile. Don't save a few quid, go with the tour operator and enjoy a better day out. (And no, I do not work for a tour operator! Genuine personal opinion of a holiday maker!!!!) :)
