Very clean and friendly atmosphere !
Pictures of the Ocean view do not justify how nice it actually is. The room was perfect for my boyfriend and I. However some might find the kitchen area a bit small, but I don't know if every room is the same. It was fine for us as we ate out every nite and don't cook on holiday anyway. Cleaners are present everyday and do a very good job. The annoying factor when we did choose to relax by the pool had to be the music! We can actually sing the words to many greek songs now as they played them over and over again. Skala has a great beach, loved it. Strongly suggest car or moped hire. We hired a bike for 5 days and saw some wonderful places. Skala does not justify the island!!

For 2* accom - good
Having just returned from Kefalonia & staying in this hotel I think it is essential that I let other travellers know the downfall of this hotel. As stated in other reviews the staff & cleanliness of hotel is excellent for 2* accommodation. BUT when booking make sure you get it in writing that you are not going to start your holiday in the BASEMENT as we did which is like a clean dungeon. Olympic holidays have been placing people there on arrival for the past few weeks. Thompson no longer use this hotel as they had so many complaints. This is 2006 and place like this should not exist especially as Kefalonia gets 13 hours of sunshine in July. Also they charge extra for AIR CONDITIONING which alot of people are unaware of. So, if you arrive late there may be no one on reception that you can purchase air conditioning from so you just spend the night in unbelievable heat! Very Clean.
We didn't actually stay in this hotel but used the pool most days as our apartments next door didnt have one. This is a peaceful, very very clean and very friendly place to relax. The staff are excellent and I would definately stay in these apartments next time we stay on Skala. The pool is clean and safe for children. Never had a problem getting a couple of sun loungers either, even though it was peak season. 10 out of 10!

Fantastic holiday
This family run hotel was such a lovely atmosthere they were so welcoming and helpful they really made our holiday and we will be definitly be returning again.
