We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, which probably deserves an additional star. Clean, good-sized rooms, friendly staff (although the owner is somewhat grumpy); and the breakfast buffet was much better than one usually finds in 2-3 star Greek hotels. The pool is good-sized and clean. We were not charged for the refrigerator, but €6/day for the air-conditioner seemed quite high. The other guests were mainly from the UK and Sweden. A nice beach closer to the hotel would have been good, but we didn't really mind the walk. All in all, a place to go back to!

This was my first visit to this hotel with my 2 daughters aged 18 and 14. We loved it and can't wait to go again! Our apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean with a wonderful view of the sea.It is a great location with the beach,shops and tavernas all within a 5minute walk. Also,most comfortable sunbeds ever round the pool!

Great location, spotlessly clean. However `hidden extras` appeared like being charged for a fridge? and being charged for the safe, all added an extra forty euros onto the holiday which was annoying. The breakfasts were ok but overall a little greasy. Staff friendly and very nicely decorated rooms.

This is the 9th year my friend and I have been coming to Lassi Hotel. We are looked after but you have to remember that it is not a four star hotel and so be prepared for that. The rooms are comfortable and always clean and as long as I can make a cup of tea I'm happy. Am looking forward to our trip in September.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and have never had a problem with it. The staff are lovely and remembered us very well. So this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at! By the way, I am 9.

A truly awful hotel. The owner is only interested in making money on the hidden extras. Ideal for those wishimg to lose weight the breakfasts are O.K. if you like stale bread tinned fruit and hard boiled eggs.

Top Local Tips for Kefalonia

Service charges Service charges are now included in a large number of tavernas in Kefalonia generally, so don't think you have to tip as much as you used to before the Euro was introduced! Check the menu to see what's included and only leave a tip if you think the service has been above the norm; the Greeks are very friendly anyway so it would be rare to find you don't wish to leave a tip - but keep it reasonable.

Tavernas Our favorite was the Dockside Taverna -- excellent fresh Greek food and homemade Kefalonian meat pie. Avoid tavernas with the work "Captain" in the name -- instead, look for places frequented by the local Greeks.

great evening meals Try Monte Nero restaurant on the main road - open air, great setting & food. For a more lively experience (learn Greek dancing) follwo the sign posts to Oskers.
