We first arrived at Ammes in June 2006 and have returned several times since then. The rooms are basic but clean and the views are amazing, being close to the sea. The restaurant serves great food and you can eat there while watching the sunset. George and Isabella run the pool bar which stays open 'til late. They serve drinks and light meals and also George's famous pizza!
There is aircraft noise as the end of the runway is visible from the hotel but I quite enjoy watching the planes and there are no flights at night.
If you want a lively holiday with clubs etc. this is not the place to go but if you want relaxation, fantastic views, good food and wonderful hosts this is the one for you.

We've just come back from one week of total relaxation. Fabulous family run location. The apartment was good, restaurant served great food with fantastic views - Sunsets, Loved the pool bar and Isabella kept us supplied with plenty of liquid refreshment including lattes. It felt like nothing was too much trouble and we were made very welcome. Great beaches (Avithos was our favourite). Also is a great place to set off from to tour the island. Thoroughly recommend Ammes Apartments. We will go back.

Marvellous place to stay, marred ever so slightly buy its proximity to Kefalonis Airport which means low flying jets on final approach, but they're not too much of a problem.
Complex is family run and has an extremely laid back atmosphere whilst maintaining highly professional standards.
The restaurant is extremely good with a super mix of local and international dishes all cooked to perfection. The wine on offer could be better, but if you pick the right one it'll be perfectly drinkable. The quality of service is super.
The poolside bar offers a good range of drinks and snacks and is diligently run by lovely Polish lass Isabella, helped by George who is the owners son.
I would recommend this place to anybody. It has fairly good transport links with the capital, Argostoli, it's generally quiet and peaceful and is located next to the beautiful village of Sovoronata, which is notable for it's traditional architecture and fantastic restaurants.
Give this resort a try. You won't be disappointed.

Couldnt find a better place to stay if I tried. Brilliant food. Lovely apartment. great beach. What more can I say I've booked for 2006 already. Cant wait. Sharron who runs the poolside bar a delight to be served by. So nice and is from England, Cumbria I think. And Fondas the chef. The food is out of this world.

if it's total relaxation, good food and drink, spacious and well equipped accomodation, impressive swimming pool and individual, friendly and knowledgeable service you are looking for, you have all that and more at the Ammes apartments.
This is a family run business where Nikitas, Maria and their sons Fondas and George personally supervise a little piece of Greek heaven.
Situated very near the azure sea with breathtaking views of the coastline and possibly some of the finest sunsets you will ever see, the Ammes is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful island of kefallonia. There is some good walking, pretty little beaches, and a good local bus service for those wishing to experience a bit of local colour. Car hire is easy and inexpensive.
there are many good restaurants in the area but none better than the Ammes with its daily 'specials'and wide variety of international cuisine. Sit under the stars after dinner enjoying an excellent brandy or enjoy the conversation at the pool bar which is supervised by Sharron who originated from England but has now made her home on this beautiful island. I have special affection for Kefallonia as this is where my husband and myself were married some years ago, having our reception at the Ammes, and I am sure that, like us, you will want to return time and time again.
