Great place for a holiday

This hotel is the best place i have stayed at the staff are all very good at there jobs. When you arrive you are shown to the bar for a welcoming drink the bar staff Hercules and Lynda are great company the hotel is very well looked after if you choose this hotel you will not be dissapointed .

This was our honeymoon and in all honesty we were pretty disappointed with the hotel from that respect. If we were going on a normal holiday perhaps we would have felt differently, but when we booked this holiday, the rep said we would be made to feel special and we weren't. It's just a 1-2 star hotel that provides the basics. You have to pay 30 Euros per week if you want your towels and linen changed daily, you have to pay 6 euros if you want air conditioning in your room. The TV in our room had no reception. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room except for a kettle. They don't provide you with soap, shampoo or shower gel. No biscuits either. The breakfast consists of muelsi with tinned apricots or thick white bread with cheap slices of ham and processed cheese and hard boiled eggs. The entertainment at the hotel is really dated and better suited to the 50 plus range. The staff are friendly and there's a nice pool.

As a frequent holiday maker to Kefallinia, I have found a superb hotel it is called the Anassa. I have never used the same hotel twice, but I hope to be going there in May & September 2007.I can only thank the gang for there hospitality & willingness to help.

We have just come back from two fantastic weeks in the Anassa hotel, a great hotel, very clean, absolutely lovely people, Linda was so good every day to us, the food was superb, the pool great, everyone friendly, the best hotel we have stayed in, definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I found the Anassa while walking along the beach on a day trip, and moved there at once. A lovely studio, and ever do friendly and helpful - I felt really lucky to have found it and thanks to all for such a great stay.

Just what we wanted

We stayed for 10 days and were really happy with the service, location and facilities. This feels better than 3 star accommodation and for Greece it is closer to a 4 star. We stayed in the Studios and understand that the Hotel rooms are even better.
The Hotel has an excellent pool built in the last couple of years and has regular movies which are shown on a large screen which drops down betwen the columns by the pool steps. Cinema Paradiso with bar and sun loungers layed on! Their own Barbecue night is excellent too with geat food (and more than you can eat.)
The 2 mile beach was great for snorkeling particulary at the southern end near a Bar called 'Stavento' which also had the best chill out music and Ceasar Salad/lamb burgers we have had any where in Greece. Blissful Holiday - Thanks all at Anassa.

We stayed at the Anassa for 3 weeks from July 26th. It is a fantastic hotel, the staff were great- especially Linda. Rooms were clean and food good. Excellent location and the kids really liked all the films showm every night. Would certainly go back - a shame it is now in hands of the package tour companies (Thomas Cook & Cosmos).

Thank you for making our holiday so perfect. We stayed at the Anassa for 3 weeks in July 05 and thought your hotel was fabulous, very clean and beautifully furnished. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, can`t wait to come back and see you all next year. hope to book for next year soon.

One of the best in Greece

We stayed at Anassa hotel end of June and the first days of July. It is one of the best hotels we have ever been to in Greece. Thanks to all the staff, and a special thanks to Mr. Spiro for the effort he made to find room to our friends too.

Top Local Tips for Kefalonia

Cephalonian roads Taxi's here know the roads, and that's a good thing; ALL of Cephalonia's roads are too narrow and very, very tortuous in course. You will be frightened by the speed at which your bus or taxi goes around these turns, so be warned! The large buses coming the other way frequently blast their horns too late as they fly around a narrow road meant to hold a bus and bike, not a bus and your car, and that is very scary. But all told, not too many fly off the mountain, or tourism would suffer. Oh, and don't expect taxi's too show up on time, especially before 11 am.

Where to eat We thought the best places to eat were the Pines which was outstanding and Syposium which was very special but smaller portions. Most of the restaurants looked lovely though and there were no banging bars or lager louts I really hope it stays that way!!!

If You don't like it Hot August can be very hot so be prepared and can be very busy. May and June are less crowded and the weather not as hot but the welcome is still as warm!
