Great family atmosphere. A room with a view! Very clean. Helpfull staff. Taste grandma's Kea meatballs if you are lucky, they are delicious. We like to recommend this hotel to all people passing through the port of Kea. We did not miss the elevator as we like to walk stairs. Good for your condition. So we give a 10 !

Staying at Karthea Hotel is now a habit for us. For ten years we are visiting this hotel mainly because of its unique position: viewing the port and the pleasure yachts visiting and the evening promenade. But every year this hotel is keep getting better: nicely decorated cozy rooms, with daily housekeeping and a wonderful breakfast experience. Classical music, homemade marmalades and quick service. Me and my husband had the worse experiences from luxury hotels regarding breakfast and believe us Karthea's breakfast is top! I am pretty sure they will soon install an elevator which is honestly missing.

We arrived in Kea with our small boats, after a hard trip from Anavyssos. Firstly, we went to hotel karthea because of it's short distance from Kea's port. Our rooms had great sea-vew, were very clean and the hotel's furniture is new and stylish. The breakfast was excellent(tasty, fresh and with home made materials), the staff very helpful and we had wireless internet to help as find the weather predictions! I can say that we really enjoyed our stay!!!(The rating would be 10 if there was an elevator..) I truly recommend it!

- the conference room we tranformed into our diving centre
- a big terras with a shade, tables and chairs where we have our briefings, lunches, where we can rinse our equipment, dry our equipment
- nice rooms
- very clean and tidy

I urge you not to visit this hotel. It is 40-50 years old, reminding a psychiatric clinic of the 70's, even though clean and refurnished (but again sooooo depressing!).

It has no elevator - for crying out loud, we are in 2008, it has a TV but with no channels whatsoever, and the room is so small you have to walk with your back against the wall to go from the WC to the balcony (which is tiny, as well!).

BETTER SLEEP ON THE BEACH, and spend your €80,00 per night they ask for in souvlaki with gyros!!!
