I went to Ios with 20 of my friends this summer. We're all 18 and had been looking forward to two weeks in Ios, partying and staying at Sunrise, which we had heard were the best place to be staying. What a dissapointment! First of all, the staff were extremely unproffesional. Since we only got one key per room, we sometimes had to go to the reception to borrow the spare-key if our roommate wasn't around. The receptionist is suppost to check with our passports which one of us is staying in the different rooms, but they never did! Instead, they just handed out keys here and there. This made us feel like they just did whatever they felt like, and what a shock when the first night we found out the reception closed at 2! I mean, someone's at least has to be there to make sure everythings all right at all times, but no! All the staff went home to their houses every night, and came again around 7 og 8 next morning.. Another big surprise was our breakfast! The hotel promises a good breakfast included in the price, and there's a sign hanging several places around the hotel with a picture of fresh juice, eggs, bacon and toasts. All we got served for breakfast was watered-out orange juice and this papertasting bun served with a package of strawberry jam. It all topped when one of our girls got some money stolen from her. We rapported the incident to Apollo, and they came over and had a chat with the staff, who immediatly took down the breakfast sign for starters, only to hang it up again as soon as they left.
