there is no place like korakakis beach hotel for a seaside holiday. we have been going there every summer for the last 15 years and are going again this summer. the family owners are hospitable and friendly, the rooms are clean and pleasant and the seaview is to die for.

This was the first time we had been to Finikounda. The hotel was recommended to us through a friend. Our room was very clean and had the best view over the sea. The owners are very polite and would smile and say hello. On the last few days of our holiday, I was unfortunate to have had an accident and suffered a badly broken ankle. The owners were very helpful and popped into our room every couple of hrs to see if I required anything. Anna Maria even assisted us with our packing for our return journey. We have already booked to return June 2009. Highly Recommended!!! Ps for those who say that the staff are unfriendly, my advice is to maybe learn a few Greek words i.e hello, good morning, good evening.

We were very disappointed with the attitude of the owners. They were unfriendly with poor customer service and on occasions down right rude. The breakfast consists of 6 pieces or bread, jam and butter, a glass of diluted orange and one drink unless of course you are brave enough to request a 2nd cup of team/coffee. Realize this is basic, but cereal was on the counter but not for us! The hotel is in a prime position and we were fortunate to have a second floor front sea facing room. The room was basic Greek which isn't a problem as the resort and location of the hotel is perfect. We absolutely love Greece so we were very surprised at the poor service we received. There was one lady who smiled all the time though and she was the cleaner.

Finikounda is the best Greek resort we have visited for many years, having stayed on 25 different islands and at 3 mainland places since 1981, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. However, the enjoyment only started each day when we got away from the hotel (which we chose because of the guarantee of a higher than ground floor.) The Korakakis Beach is a one star establishment and so we didn't expect anything special but we certainly did not bargain for the unfriendliest people we have ever met in Greece. It started when we arrived, with the receptionist silently handing out keys to everybody checking in. No friendly welcome there! Then, when we didn't get any response from the same person (after saying "Kalimera") on each of the first three mornings, we gave up and assumed that she must have been an extra from Michael Jacksons "Thriller"! - After seven days she did actually speak once when she said "coffee?" in a "you rang" tone, but that was only because the usual waitress (who did at least smile) was not available at that time. Every other guest we spoke to echoed our sentiments about this individual so it wasn't just us that she didn't like. In fact even the rep (whose knowledge of the area was incredible) seemed to avoid the place like the plague, although we did see him there, once. - Added to this, we could never get a full nights sleep in the hotel due to the fridge sounding like a jet engine each time it started, flies and wasps outnumbered the guests in the breakfast room each morning and our "toilet bin" was not emptied three times during the 14 days we were there. - The good points about the hotel (there were a couple!) (1)The perfectly working air conditioning, for which we we very grateful and (2)The bread, which had to be the freshest in the whole resort! To sum up, though, the unspoilt village of Finikounda is fantastic and is thoroughly recommended for a holiday, but we would urge people to avoid this hotel if at all possible. (Apparently the Finisia next door and also the Finikounda are extremely friendly - as all Greeks hotels (irrespective of their grading)usually are!

We(Mom and 2kids in their 20s) arrived very late(the town was asleep)and the hotel staff, after waking them up, was so kind and accomodating. Hotel is very clean, great staff, the beach is right out your window and across the little road. This is in a wonderful small town with good food and shops. All of this for a great price, it doesn't get any better. I hope to be back there next year.

Great place to stay in Finkounda. Clean, well run & good standard of rooms. Very close to beach, over the quiet road. Nice bar for nightcap at extremely cheap prices. Will go again, hopefully next year!
